CCC - Clay's Canucks Commentary for March 31, 2011: Witnessing History (Presidents' Trophy)
I was blessed to witness history on March 31, 2011 as the Vancouver Canucks claimed their first-ever Presidents’ Trophy by beating the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 at Rogers Arena.
With 113 points and 4 games remaining, the Canucks could potentially reach 121 points this season!
Also, I witnessed another milestone as Daniel Sedin had 2 points to bring his league-leading total to 100 points. He is a lock for the Art Ross Trophy and a favourite to win the Hart Trophy (just one year after his twin brother Henrik won both).
7 out of 24 past Presidents’ Trophy winners have gone on to win the Stanley Cup. Will the Canucks be able to improve on that 29% number? We will soon find out!
Music is "Hockey Night in Canada" recorded by Naturally 7 on their CD "VocalPlay." (www.naturallyseven.com)
