While I usually get my Canucks related chuckles from CDC posts, today I got my dose of 'nuck humor via TSN's list of free agents when I saw the following:

No matter how you feel about him as a forward, the thought of Dale Weise suiting up as a goalie is funny as &*#@!
Who would you like to see come to the Canucks in signing, or in exchange for Luongo? And what do you think will most likely happen? I for one, would like to see Lupul on the team, but I think most likely Doan or Versteeg will come to it. Hoping more maybe signing Doan, and trading Luongo for Lupul or Versteeg!
What do you think?
First Line: Daniel Henrik Burrows
Second Line: Booth Kesler Doan (Or Lupul, or Versteeg)
Third Line: Higgins Lapierre Hansen
Forth Line: Ryamond Malhotra Kassian (Or Ebbet)
Pair 1: Edler Garrison
Pair 2: Bieksa Hamhuis
Pair 3: Ballard Joslin (Or Mullen)
Starter: Cory Schneider
Back up: Eddie Lack
In the very small chance of signing a big name like Nash, he would then repla
So another day and we still have Luongo and no new big name to the team? I for one would like to see Lupul on the team in exchange for Luongo. If not Lupul, then Versteeg. But would it be possible to sign one of them and Doan? Considering Doan wants to leave, and Luongo wants to go to Florida, also Toronto wants him. Seems like MG could pull it off. But there are also bigger names. Sure the Canucks aren`t on the list off teams they figure Nash would to go to. But when are those right? It would b
So Toronto was going for Luongo right? And I was thinking, why don't they try to trade him for Lupul? Lupul is a good forward that we could use in the top 6.
Daniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin-Alexandre Burrows
David Booth-Ryan Kesler-Kris Versteeg (obtain his rights in Luongo trade)
Chris Higgins-Manny Malhotra-Jannik Hansen
Zack Kassian-Maxim Lapierre-Aaron Volpatti
Mason Raymond-Dale Weise
Kevin Bieksa-Dan Hamhuis
Alex Edler-Jason Garrison
Keith Ballard-Chris Tanev
Yann Sauve-Derek Joslin
Cory Schneider
Eddie Lack
Trade Alberts for a pick
Trade Luongo for Versteeg's rights and Howden
MG needs to look at the players available now and not next year! I know Canucks management are taking a good look at Doan! But what if we cant sign him! we need a different look up front. Thoughts?!?
Everyone is complaining that Manny was terrible and useless and someone even said to shoot him in the head and throw him in a random junk yard. Though Malhotra wasn't great he wasn't terrible either. He was tops on the team in FO percentage and only had 2 less goals than Maxim Lapierre. Not only that but in 2011-12 he was playing 3rd line and 2nd PP and 11-12 just 4th line. Throw in the fact that he was coming off a career threatening eye injury and he wasn't that bad. He took more defensive zon
With the departure of Ryan Suter from the Nashville Predators, the main question in Nashville is, what is going to happen with Shea Weber. As all Hockey fans know, Weber is a norris trophy candidate just about every season, and if not the best defencemen in the league, one of the best without a doubt. With Ryan Suter's departure from Nashville, Shea Weber may not want to re-sign in Nashville and play their for his whole career, which makes the situation in Nashville much more difficult.

Hello again!
It feels like forever since I've been back. Last year, I left this "Bleeding Blue and Green" blog (special thanks to Derek Jory for the opportunity, should he ever see this) after the website overhaul and started my own blog, Armchair Hockey. Check it out if you have a chance! There's some more recent stuff about the Rick Nash trade sweepstakes, the Kings-Flyers relationship and more.
The Canucks pick 26th this year, and unfortunately for them it's a strong year for defensemen
I take a look at the draft history between the Canucks and Predators. The focus of this information was to discover which team had drafted more steady NHLers since Nashville's inception in 1998. I won't list any trades regarding picks, because that would be another article in itself. Let's just say in this time frame, both teams have moved a 1st round pick for a franchise player on the decline, and neither of them panned out. (Trevor Linden [VAN] & Peter Forsberg [NSH]). Also note, because o
The GM restated his commitment to "offensive hockey". Canucks fans should stand behind his grand strategy.
The NHL, CBC, most GMs, and sadly, many fans buy into the current version of NHL hockey which is boring and retrograde.
Gillis has foresight and vision and needs out full support. Sooner or later the NHL will adapt to the 21st century, catch up to the NBA and NFL, and not inhibit skill and speed in our game. A pox on clutching, grabbing and late hits. A pox on fighting and headsho
Am I the only one who noticed that every game we played in the playoffs this year was on the same day as a Pittsburgh game and that our result (in terms of winning or losing, not the final score) was always the same as theirs?

For the life of me I don't understand the idiots in this town.Have any of you fools looked at Lous carrer stats. He has an ove 92% save avg in his career. Many of those years in florida where he faced 50 shots per game and still recorded 6-8 shutouts per year. Goalies have bad days but the Canucks defence is highly over rated in terms of defensive talent it is mostly offence. Feed Cory to the wolves like the complacent Canucks have Luongo.Take a look at the scoring chances we give up vs shots on g
Forty-one years since the Vancouver Canucks’ conception, the franchise finds itself being asked the same question: what has to change for next year?
Rabblerousers will look at this team’s early playoff exit as an end of an era beginning from the top to the very bottom, or metaphorically, from Mike Gillis to Roberto Luongo, of whom have both seen their Vancouver careers run from heralded saviour to social pariah. These people have the “what have you done for me lately” mentality, and while I u
well the next best thing to not making it to the next round is....neither is chicago.

In my final regularly-scheduled CCC for the 2011-2012 season, I take a quick look at the disappointing end to the Vancouver Canucks season; a season that ended with 2 - 1 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings handily won the series 4 games to 1.
I share some quick thoughts on what issues the Canucks will have to tackle in the off-season and I also draw comparisons to the ending of this year's playoff run to last year's ending.
Thank you to all of you, the faithful viewers of th
