She’s so excited about having the baby around, so that’ll be nice. I know that she’ll be watching the baby the whole summer, we probably won’t even get to see her. But, at least we know our little girl will be in good hands because my sister is the ultimate babysitter – she runs a daycare.

I think they’re pretty excited to finally get her out of the house – I don’t think they expected having to deal with their kids in the house for 30 years.

The hardest thing for my wife and I is where the baby will be born. We keep going back and forth on it and our main topic of discussion right now is that I want her around during playoffs but at the same time, I want family to be around too, so that’s kind of the problem we’re in.

We might have to fly some family out here or have her go back home but we haven’t really decided yet. Some people are talking about the whole citizenship situation but it isn’t an issue – it’s really important to me that Andrea has family around. If they can’t be here, she might have to go home. We’ll see what happens.

A lot of people have been asking me about Alex right now since we’ve been playing together pretty consistently through the year and he’s been playing really well. I’ve always said that he’s underrated and now he’s showing it, which is nice. He’s getting a lot of media attention and he loves it, plus he’s not afraid to say anything so he’s just taking it all in right now.

I think the biggest reason for the change is confidence for sure and finding confidence between the two of us has made a big impact too. There is one thing that’s been hard though – I told him I don’t understand Spanish so he’s going to have to learn English.

Last few games are huge and going to determine where teams play, especially since they’re all divisional games. I know it’s cliché but every point counts and every point’s huge. These are going to be a major test and it’s going to be playoff-like hockey all the way to the end so they’re going to be fun. Everybody knows the importance of the games and you do feel it every time you step into the rink and maybe you do get that extra stride but that’s what will help us.

hi Ryan - thank you for taking the time to blog at such a busy time of the year, in your case busy professionally and personally with your daughter on the way.

I have had the pleasure this past week to see you and Senor Burrows play live for the first time, as I have dragged my son over here for a little road trip. If you hear any English accents cheering you on tomorrow at the Saddledome, that'll be us :)

First time I have ever had the pleasure of mixing with fellow Kesfans :) We are a rapidly growing population...

Good luck with the rest of the season, and beyond, and of course the baby :) I hope Andrea is enjoying her pregnancy, and you are both savouring your last couple of months of peace...

Thanks so much for taking the time to blog, as you can see by the responses we love reading your posts!

I want to say how impressed I am that it is so important to you that your wife has family around at such an epic moment in her life...it's so nice to hear you thinking of her so much at such a special time...but, don't forget it's a pretty important moment in your life as well - it sure would suck to miss it...if there's ANY way that family could be here for her that would be a win/win for all of you -- baby too! :)

Really...it's none of our business what you do...we just want what's best for you and your family...

As for hockey - you've been awesome and I agree it's nice to see you and Alex having so much fun together out there....it's so neat to see a team enjoying themselves and it seems to show in the results as well..

Hope we get to keep you for a long, long time!

I just wanted to say that you have really come into your game this year. You have become a force on the ice, and have become a great all round player to watch. I look forward to seeing the playoffs.

Congrats on the baby. It will be a great change. You will learn to get by without as much sleep. Try not to worry about where the baby is born, it won't matter. I have had three, my youngest is 3 months old, and trust me, it rarely happens the way that you plan for it to.

Good luck on the game tonight!!!!

Thanks for blogging once again Ryan! Sounds like you're getting more and more excitied as the baby's due date approaches! The decision about where to have the baby is an important one, but I'm sure you and your wife will end up making the right decision! It's nice that your sister runs a daycare, because I'm sure she'll be a great help to you and Andrea once the baby comes. :P Anywhoo, you've been playing great lately, keep it up. I can't wait till playoff time. Alright, well good luck tonight, and good luck once again to you and your wife, I hope all is well! :)

Hey Kesler,

Love your BLOG. Always fun and full of insight. :D

I am a Canucks fan living in Calgary. I know, crazy. Since you guys are in town tonight for the game, I need you to "BRING IT". Not only do we need to get into the Play Offs having the NW Division would be sweet too. I will be cheering you on like I always do - My husband will as well since he is the biggest Canucks fan ever.

You have really come into your game this year and I really love you and Burrows together. It always looks like you guys are having fun. Why don't they ever mic you guys up for games since I would love to know what you guys are laughing about all the time?

Congrats on being a dad soon. Have you thought of baby names yet?

Thanks

Amira

Thanks to you and Alex for bringing your energy and passion to the game last night. Be thinking of you and wishing you well in May with the new babe!

Enjoy! :) Fingers and toes crossed that we don't lose you, seemed like Frick n Frack were the two we could count on being there every game!

Thanks for 2008 Ryan. Sorry about the playoffs, but we fans have faith that the Canucks will have a better season next year. Good luck with the baby. At least you should be able to decide where to have the baby now.
