A Quick Reflection on Remembrance Day CDC traffic.

No matter what your opinion of wars, who initiates them and what purpose they serve, the Remembrance Day thread is not the place to voice those opinions. If you want to go on about that very valid topic, start your own thread.

In the Remembrance Day thread, you take your hat off, shut up for a couple minutes and respectfully reflect on the sacrifice of Canadian (and all) soldiers whose lives ebbed away in the mud of some land hundreds or thousands of miles away from home. If you can't bring yourself to do that, just go away.

I could not agree more. There's no need to belittle the sacrifices made by Canadian forces, be it for WWI or other wars.

The lengths people will go to to avoid discussion of things that make them uncomfortable. . .

duck, dodge, hide.

Bye-bye.

We all know you're not stupid, Steamer, so the "willfully obtuse" routine rings a bit hollow, don't you think?

I use lots of techniques to evoke discussion. Obtuseness I find particularly interesting because it often reveals the prejudices of the respondents. Just because you've seen it all before, doesn't mean the other 48,000 posters have (OK, probably 4800 when adjusted for multiple account holders).

Since you claim to be tired of this and see right through it, why not respond to what you believe are my underlying sentiments? Failing that, why not ignore the comments? Surely making things about me does nothing to contribute.
