<table width=90% align=center><tr><td><img src=http://cdn.nhl.com/canucks/images/upload/2007/09/raymond_blog.jpg border=0 align=left vspace=3 hspace=4>It’ been a while since I’ve blogged but as you’ve probably noticed, there’s just not a lot of time with the road trip, the games, the practices, and… dare I say, time to rest? – well not much of it any way.

My parents were in town last week to visit and it was really nice to have them here and to have familiar faces around. I didn’t have a lot of time to really show them around so I did a very inadequate “tour” of Vancouver, well we went to West Vancouver for a day and that was basically it. Besides, I’m not really all that familiar with the city myself so I’m probably not the best person to be showing around anyone here. Their visit was definitely too short.

My fiancée didn’t get to visit though because she’s in school right now. She at the University of Calgary studying business and commerce so she’s busy enough over there. It’s hard doing the long distance thing obviously but right now it’s no different than it was before. We’ve been doing this for a while now so Vancouver seems kind of close and easy in comparison.

It was like any other day, especially since there was a game. It was kind of the last thing on my mind since we are still in training camp and I’m still fighting for a job but I guess I’m just a year older. That’s all that really means for now.

I had kind of a late birthday gift… sort of. The night after my birthday day, we played the Oilers and I got my first NHL pre-season goal. I was excited about getting that first goal up here because it felt like weight off my shoulders and it’s good to get that first one under my belt. I’ve already played in three games (tonight will be the fourth) and so I feel much more comfortable and I’m getting more confident all the time. Hopefully it’ll just keep getting better.

I’ve heard that some of the guys kept the if they scored they’d keep the puck, but for me it doesn’t really mean as much right now. I don’t want to keep it until the regular season – I think it’ll mean more when I get a goal in my first regular season game.

<a href=http://cdn.nhl.com/canucks/images/upload/2007/09/Sep2407_Bourdon_b.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://cdn.nhl.com/canucks/images/upload/2007/09/Sep2407_Bourdon_t.jpg border=0 align=left vspace=3 hspace=4></a>We had the Jake Milford Golf Tournament Monday and it was a lot of fun. It was great to be part of something that’s such a great cause. Milford is a guy that’s looked upon highly and very supportive of kids and everyone else so I really enjoyed being part of an event like this.

I played with a group of sawmill workers from a company called Trimlite, who were all very nice and I'm glad that I had a good group. I don’t know what our total score was but we didn’t win any prizes. I think Luc Bourdon’s group was one of the big winners.

Some guys got cut yesterday but I'm happy that I've made through so far because it's just that much closer to achieving my ultimate goal here. The season is right around the corner so it's definitely getting closer. I just have to keep my focus and continue doing what I do and hopefully show the coaches what I can do out there and convince them that I can do it for a long time up here.</td></tr></table>

After all you have done this Training camp (and yes, I've watched Live from Day 1 onward) , I would be shocked, and dissapointed if you didn't make the team.

Brilliant hockey player,

If I drafted you in "NHL 08 for xbox 360" I'd be a happy camper, what a steal in the second round.

Mason,

Congratulations - we're all very proud of you, and looking forward to a great season. Keep working hard, keep your focus and most importantly bring it every night, even if it isn't working some nights, bring your wheels, your drive and that heart that got you from a small tier 2 team in Alberta to the NHL - One thing that the Canucks have always stood for is what you have shown you character is built of, hard work and desire - You have every fan in Vancouver and beyond wanting to see you succeed.

No one could say it better than Eminem, this song reminded me of you....remember it, listen to it...

Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity

To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment

Would you capture it or just let it slip?

Verse 1

Yo, his palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy

There is vomit on his sweater already

Moms forgettin' he's nervous

But on the surface he looks calm and ready

To drops bombs, but he keeps on forgetting

What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud

He opens his mouth but the words won't come out

He's choking, how? Everybody's jokin' now

The clock's run out, time's up, over BLOW!

Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity

Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked, he's so mad

But he won't give up that easy, no he won't have it

He knows his whole back's to these ropes

It don't matter, he's dope, he knows that

But he's broke, he's so sad that he knows

When he goes back to this mobile home

That's when it's back to the lab again, yo

This whole rhapsody, better go capture this moment

And hope it don't collapse on him

You better lose yourself in the music

The moment you own it you better never let it go, oh

You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow

Cuz opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo

You better lose yourself in the music

The moment you own it you better never let it go, oh

You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow

Cuz opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo

You better

Verse 2

Soul's escapin' through this hole's that is gaping

This world is mines for the taking

Make me king as we move toward a new world order

A normal life is boring

But superstardom's close to post mortem

It only grows harder, homie grows hotter

He blows us all over, these hoes is all on him

Coast to coast shows, he's known as the Globetrotter

Lonely roads got him

He knows he's grown farther from home, he's no father

He goes home and barely knows his own daughter

But hold ya nose cuz here goes the cold water

These hoes don't want him no mo', he's cold prada

They moved on to the next shmo who flows

Who nose dove and sold nada

And so the so proper

His toll, it unfolds and I suppose it's old, partner

But the beat goes on

Duh duh doe, duh doe, dah dah dah dah

Verse 3

No more games, I'ma change for due called rage

Tear this mutha****in' roof off like two dogs caged

I was playin' in the beginnin', the mood all changed

I've been chewed up and spit out and booed off stage

But I kept rhymin' and stepped writin' the next cipher

Best believe somebody's payin' the pied piper

All the pain inside amplified by the

Fact that I can't get by with my nine to five

And I can't provide the right type of life for my family

Cuz, man, these goddamn food stamps don't buy diapers

And there's no movie, there's no Mekhi Pfifer

This is my life and these times are so hard

And it's gettin' even harder tryin' to feed and water

My seed plus teeter-totter

Caught up between bein' a father and a pre-madonna

Baby momma drama, screamin' on her

Too much for me to wanna stay in one spot

Another damn or not has gotten me to the point

I'm like a snail, I've got to formulate a plot

Or end up in jail or shot

Success is my only mutha****in' option, failure's not

Momma love you but this trailer's got to go

I cannot grow old in Salem's Lot

So here I go, it's my shot

Feet fail me not

Cuz maybe the only opportunity that I got

Duh doo

You can do anything you set your mind to, man

Go get em kid.
