  1. Past hour
  2. Well they got their inspiration for horrid band names from The Barenaked Ladies, and now they eat Humble Pie. I feel embarrassed for liking that song when it came out. Anywho sorry for the derail but I have to link this, if you haven't read this list yet try and guess who was originally called "The Band-Aid Boys" or at the very least guess the genre. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/25-worst-original-names-of-famous-bands-72260/the-band-aid-boys-45511/ Some of those names got worse.
  3. At a time that calls for a calming presence and direction from the Commander in Chief, the @realDonaldTrump cowers in the bunker. Calls himself the greatest President In US history. SO TERRIBLE!!!! Sad really.
  4. I agree if Jake comes back out off shape Benning will lose patients with big Jake..Jake will be 24 years old in August and needs to be more mature and discipline .. I think he has teammates trying to tutor and explain how talented and how much potential he has if he has the discipline and work ethic.. I think Miller is working with him... I do think Jake will be traded before the next season if he comes back out of shape at 24 yrs old and knows how coach Green and Benning feel about this issue..
  5. https://www.loudersound.com/news/foo-fighters-is-a-dumb-name-grohl That name sucks, sorry.
  6. Protestors tackle antifa scumbag that is getting rocks to throw at the police. Anti fascists my ass!
  7. Gregg Popovich unleashes fiery statement on Trump: 'What we have is a fool in place of a president' “The thing that strikes me is that we all see this police violence and racism and we’ve seen it all before but nothing changes. That’s why these protests have been so explosive. But without leadership and an understanding of what the problem is, there will never be change. And white Americans have avoided reckoning with this problem forever because it’s been our privilege to be able to avoid it. That also has to change.” Then he moved on to leadership, lamenting the current resident of the White House, President Donald Trump. “It’s unbelievable. If Trump had a brain, even if it was 99 percent cynical, he would come out and say something to unify people. But he doesn’t care about bringing people together. Even now. That’s how deranged he is. It’s all about him. It’s all about what benefits him personally. It’s never about the greater good. And that’s all he’s ever been.” “It’s so clear what needs to be done. We need a president to come out and say simply that ‘Black Lives Matter.’ Just say those three words. But he won’t and he can’t. He can’t because it’s more important to him to mollify the small group of followers who validate his insanity. But it’s more than just Trump. The system has to change. I’ll do whatever I can do to help because that’s what leaders do. But he can’t do anything to put us on a positive path because he’s not a leader. “It’s like what Lindsay Graham and Ted Cruz used to say when they had the courage to say it: He’s unfit. But they have chosen instead to be invisible and obsequious in the face of this carnage. In the end what we have is a fool in place of a president, while the person who really runs the country, Senator Mitch McConnell, destroys the United States for generations to come. McConnell has destroyed and degraded our judicial system. He has tried to destroy heath care. He’s destroyed the environment. He’s the master and Trump’s the stooge, and what’s funny is that Trump doesn’t even know it. Trump’s always wanted to be part of the in-group, but McConnell is an in-group of one and Trump plays the fool. “He’s not just divisive. He’s a destroyer. To be in his presence makes you die. He will eat you alive for his own purposes. I’m appalled that we have a leader who can’t say ‘Black Lives Matter.’ That’s why he hides in the White House basement. He is a coward. He creates a situation and runs away like a grade-schooler. Actually, I think it’s best to ignore him. There is nothing he can do to make this better because of who he is: a deranged idiot.” “[The protests] are very necessary, but they need to be organized better. It’s frustrating. When Dr. King did a protest, you knew when to show, when to come back the next day. But if you’re just organizing protests and everyone is coming and going in every direction, it doesn’t work that way. If it was nonviolent, they knew to be nonviolent, but this is muddled. More leadership would be very welcome so these incredible mass demonstrations can’t be used by people for other means. We can limit the bad, but only if things are organized better.” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/gregg-popovich-unleashes-fiery-statement-on-trump-what-we-have-is-a-fool-in-place-of-a-president-184310589.html
  8. Well....it's no Moxy Fruvous.....
  9. Win or lose I think this is what we need! Petey and Hughes (among others) need to be thrown in to the fire! Let them get smacked around a bit. I want Petey to be giving his weight set the "death glare" all off-season (however long that is lol) Jake is another one. He seems like such an emotional guy that I've been very curious as to what a tough playoff series would do to him.
  10. It’s a great name. Let no one convince you otherwise.
  11. Agreed but I kinda do like Foo Fighters because it has a cool story.
  12. If anyone is wondering about the mentality among police officers that leads to incidents like this, maybe this video will give you some insight: https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2020/06/01/minneapolis-police-union-president-praise-trump-campaign-rally.cnn In the video, the speaker mentions that he had the "honor" of meeting Sheriff David Clarke: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Clarke_(sheriff)
  13. Not at all against the peaceful protest, IF the protesters truly care about the cause and aren't just ignorantly going due to herd mentality, or doing it for the Gram (which Vancouverites are often prone to do). Racism itself is a widespread, legitimate issue and the George Floyd situation is tragedy in what happened for sure. However, I think such passion, instead of letting it occupy your attention as a flavor of the day, should be channeled to address things that you can fix. Of course if you see a black person being discriminated against, speak up, but at the same time do so for any person (Asian/ indigenous/ middle Eastern/ senior/ disabled...). If you see anyone getting punched/ cussed at, speak up. I hope people don't just let their passions remain an indignation in your heart if you aren't going to actively fix anything that you can fix, and certainly don't just let it fizzle out and die as a passion only. Keyboard activism also only goes so far.

  15. My buddy lives in Titusville and he estimates there were close to 500,000 people in town for the launch.
  16. I don't think any GM would give up a 1st rounder for Pearson and 4th . Playing with Horvat and his role in Vancouver has been a very good fit.. Don't think you can make trades now?? Trade deadline was end of March and teams are preparing for playoffs? We need Pearson for playoff run now.. Going to be so strange at this years draft in June? Nobody can trade roster players as they will need them for there playoff hopes... Trades won't happen until after playoffs in late September?
  17. So you are against people peaceful protesting for Black lives Matter ? I do agree that not social distrancing and also not wearing masks is insanity....
  18. To no-one's surprise, Facebook's staff seem to have more spine that it's founder...... https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/01/tech/facebook-employees-twitter/index.html
  19. it was nice of janisahockeynut to stop in and say hello. always good to meet fellow cdc’er.

  20. Is Pearson worth a 1st? If so, I would trade him ASAP. Why? We also free up some cap and Benning wants a 1st this draft. I wouldnt mind packaging say Pearson + 4th for a 1st rd pick.
  21. I have no doubt that the pandemic coupled with financial stress, job loss, frustration with govt/law enforcement and other factors are providing fuel to the anger. This is a very good example of how well run countries that takes care of its citizens or puts its citizenry over politics tend to fair better through stressful times as a collective.
