Thats Roman, not Spartan.
As far as the logo goes they did a good job polishing it up, makes it look better now.

Good point. I always figured they were going for the Roman centurian theme. But I guess it is Greek.

I'm pretty sure it's was not leaked out on the NHL website, because I'm in ottawa and the papers haven't said anything about new jerseys or logos. Plus I'm sure I've seen that pic before. But i could be wrong.

these jerseys remind me of the Sports Action commercial with the REALLY old school jerseys.
I like the new one better, it was polished up nicely, the cape is a bit lower on the shoulders and there isn't as much shadowing on the face. Overall a nice alteration to an already great logo, hopefully they get rid of the old one on the white jerseys and stick with this one for both home and away.
