the problem is that the canucks have hats of many varietys. Ive seen camo hats & logos, pink hats & logo's, black hats with the logo black as well as white hats with white logos. What does this mean? it means they're trying to make as much money as possible. This could just be like any of those other hats. Although I do admit it's very similar to the 'leaked' photo

i think that's pretty close to confirming the new logo, even if hats change colours and schemes it's not likely to see the logo itself actually changed on licensed merchandise

regardless the word "canucks ANYWHERE larger then a pea on the front of the jersey is stupid beyond belief. Ok you are truly an idiot instead of thinking it out or considering that it is the new logo, you just give a flat-out "no" like you own the damn Canucks. The hats you posted are custom Canuck hats made by the Vancouver Canucks organization. the hat that was leaked are official RBK NHL hats that are produced for every NHL team. Every NHL team has those hats in the same format even the NFL hats that are made by RBK have the same format.

So weighing all facts, unless that picture is photoshopped that is the offical logo of the Canucks which is the same picture that was leaked by blue.dragon28.

Where did I say no to the possibility of that being our new logo? Sushi said, "even if hats change colours and schemes it's not likely to see the logo itself actually changed on licensed merchandise". When I read that I remembered that I have a couple hats where the colours on the logo aren't blue, white, and maroon. Instead they have a camo print or two different shades of brown. I thought Sushi might not have seen these types of hats so I posted a picture of some that are available at Authentix.

Yeah but this isn't just another concept hat. It's the official draft hat that uses the same template for every team. The fact that they'd make a new hat using the same template but with different colors suggests to me strongly that those will be the team colors and that will be the new look orca logo.

I think that the logo will be unveiled on the 15th of September. I went to this hockey store downtown and I asked them when I would be able to buy the new jerseys and I was told that I could pre order them on the 15th (and no sooner), but that I would have to wait a week to get them in my hands. I don't see why they would unveil them on the 29th and then make us wait 16 days jsut to pre-order.

Authentix gets a head start on selling the new jersey. I expect they have the window from August 29 to Sept 15.

How about the old WHL jerseys?

I mean that it's my idea that we shoudl take that jersey, made by england wins, put the green and white whale in the middle instead, I think everyone on CDC already knows who the original is made by.

Incidentally, I added August 29 to the sidebar countdown for the Vancouver Canucks big unveiling event. This comes not from the team directly but rather someone apparently working for a graphics firm hired by the team. Said someone emailed me directly and told me I should post the date. That being said, take it for what its worth. I can't verify that claim any more than you but there it is.

Plus, it didn't have to come from a store. It could have come from anywhere inside the Canucks organization, or Rbk.

It's not photoshopped, its just a hat. Who says that its our colours? Its obviously in a retail store, you can see other hats on the shelf! And guess what, hats don't ship to stores with security tags already on them, its up to each store to decide if they need a security device.

Those pink shirts and hats are REAL but they aren't our color scheme they brought out those way back, look through an athentix catalogue there are so many differnt colors and styles of hats and the orca that you can get, so doesn't mean they are the new colors of the team.

Every NHL team uses a generic template for all the hats given to prospects when they walk up on stage and simply has their own colors and official logo added to them. Because draft hats need to be in official team colors this leads me to believe that this is a legitimate leak. Despite the presence of many various styles of hats with the Canucks logo on them, the fact that this uses the exact same template as the draft hats but is using an altered color scheme is a huge indicator to me.

And just for the people arguing "why would the Canucks be stupid enough to send a store their new logo on a hat if the jersey isn't out yet..." maybe that's because it's not the Canucks' decision. It's RBK's. RBK would no doubt be printing new Canuck merchandise in anticipation of the jersey launch which now appears to be coming very soon. You can't just roll out brand new stock overnight. Manufacturers are probably among the first "outside" people to get a look at the new logo/color scheme, not the general public. Various manufacturer's have probably been printing up new t-shirts, hats, pennants, stickers etc. for weeks now and are just waiting for the green light to release it all once the jersey is unveiled. Once that happens, nobody is going to want "old" merchandise and since it would take time to create an inventory that can be immediately rolled out for the masses the logo and colors have probably been seen by quite a few people already. It was probably RBK's intention to have these hats remain in the backs of the various stock rooms at these stores until the unveiling happened and this store simply broke protocol and released them prematurely.

If that hat is real, and it looks real, then that's the logo, and colors. RBK isn't going to use off colors for that style of hat. If that style was used for the NHL, and NFL draft, then it is considered an official hat meaning they will only use official team colors.
