Nope, hit from behind last game. Slow-mo replay showed his right knee bounce off the boards really hard.

  3. Who is this Ted guy and why does he talk so much?

  4. Hypothetical question:

Josh Leivo is in his contract year pacing 43 points. Do you give him $3M or let him walk?

I think we'd have a riot on our hands, and maybe a mutiny from Petey, if they moved Boeser. I think they'd demand a 1st or maybe even Podkolzin.

your probably right jimmy, but i’m just saying imo zucker would be the best winger for bo.

      J-Dizzle

Zucker would be great but expensive... wonder what the cost would be on a guy like Bailey or maybe Connolly?

  5. I thought the Canucks were gonna wear the flying V for the game?

80s night with skate jerseys? Lol

    1. Chickenspear

      Chickenspear

Well, the skate was intro'd in '85, and the "V" is butt #*$&ing ugly. Just my assumption.

    2. Baer.

      Baer.

I guess. Just kinda surprised when I went to see the highlights and they weren't wearing the flying V. What's the point of even making the jerseys if you aren't going to play in them

      Oh yeah that's right. Money.

I hate it when highlights like this show up.  Guaranteed someone tries this on me next time I'm on the ice.  Even my own guys, in warmup.  ::D

Ahh yes, Shirokov, the player who looked like he might be able to contribute but was immediately demoted.

I don't ever recall a game well officiated by this guy.  That hook on Pettersson last night was one of the most flagrant demonstrations of his complete incompetence.  When Pettersson hit Hall later in the game I figured he was getting five and a game, then couldn't help laugh he calls Hall for diving.  I think this guy may actually rig these games.

  10. Fun fact: Nils Hoglander is teammates with another former Canucks draft pick... Taylor Matson 6th round in 2007.

@Tortorella's Rant The return of Brad Lukowich and Christian Ehrhoff made that one easier to swallow. For me it was Nathan Smith.followed by RJ Umberger. After getting Bryan Allen and the Sedins the 2 years before, they NEEDED to load up on young talent after the 90's team was dismantled. RJ Umberger holding out because he wanted 1 million dollars and we get Marty Rucinsky and Martin Grenier out of it. Sweet. No return for Nathan Smith and he was only ever known for his indecent exposure while with Pittsburgh, I believe.

@Baer. I want to see guys get 150+ points again tbh. The more goals the better imo, also if we could get to the point of 7-4 or 9-7 games. Hockey as a whole would grow big time. USA/Europe/North Asians would be more interested imo.

Pens are insane. Without Malkin to

A healthy Letang goes a long way to supporting their offense with Malkin out

Helps that Crosby's still one of the best too

  16. Elliotte Friedman said Canucks are kicking tires on Mark Pysyk from Florida. Winnipeg, New Jersey also interested.

    4. 6string

      6string

He did most of his deals through Fla.

  17. Kulikov on LOA. Winnipeg just can't catch a break. Probably weakest defense in league now.

    1. higgyfan

      higgyfan

Jets are in a desperate situation.  Most of their rds have little NHL experience and now the left side is looking pretty grim.  The Pysyk rumour makes me wonder if the Nucks are thinking about moving Tanev.  The Jet's desperation could garner a very nice return, I suspect.

  18. Are there any journalist websites that write articles on every NHL team? TSN/Sportsnet/Athletic only care about leafs.

    1. goalie13

      goalie13

I've actually been fairly impressed by some of The Athletic's coverage of the Canucks.  There are have been some pretty good articles on there and since you can edit your preferences, you don't get bombarded by Leafs crap.

@luckylager I'm not taking it well at all.  I can't believe Jimbo would do this! I cried in the bathroom at work today. Hopefully he doesn't get claimed, tears it up in Utica, then is called right back up.

    Pettersson (obviously)

    Sutter

    Gaudette

    Hughes

    Markstrom

    Demko

    Focht (he's big)

    Players I didn't like:

    Goldobin

    Eriksson

    Graovac

    Bachman

    Teves

I really liked the line of Baer-Focht-Motte. Lots of energy from those 3 guys.
