i keep thinking what coach green said about jake during the exit meetings. he answered a question about if jake could play with petey and brock? he said he could, but he would have to be taught how to play with them.
could green turn him into a burrows? imo, he needs to play a burrows style game.

Reminds me of a quote from a recent Gillis interview on 1040. Something along the lines of how people kept thinking that the Sedin's needed a right-handed sniper, but according to their analytics and internal discussions Gillis believed they needed an elite puck retriever and Burrows could be that guy. I think with the right coaching and deployment Virtanen could be an elite puck retriever for Petey and Brock. Needs to be more aggressive and use his stick and body to forecheck more consistently, but the physical tools are certainly there.

I need the saddest song you know. Bonus points will be granted for obscurity.

Since somebody already mentioned Nick Drake, why not one of his inspirations as well. If you are interested, reading Frank's life story just adds to the tragedy.

Why are so many folks pro Travis Green coaching the Canucks when a common complaint against Willie was his lack of experience at this level?
-
I think if we had hired somebody like Lindy Ruff instead of Willie and fired him today the same people would be complaining about the coaching carousel and retreads. Experience is nice, but it's not everything. We need a coach who can develop our young core into a cup contender down the road. If Jim and Trevor deem Travis to be that guy then we should give him a chance. In my opinion we're lucky to still have him in the organization because I think he was pretty close to landing a job last summer.

OH my god John am I really seeing this? Trevor Linden is in full gear on the bench and appears to be riding shotgun with the Sedins...He WILL PLAY IN GAME 7!
