  1. Yeah, I was at a card store the other day and main guy there was saying with the Pandemic people have spent more time on their card collections.
  2. Are those additions projections over the next little while or deaths that have already occured?
  3. ditto*. *Although technically I have a twitter account I never use and an Instragram account that I used when schools were shut down and it was the only way to get a hold of some students, but I haven't used it for anything else.
  4. I've been doing research on some players I need and it looks like Aaron Rome doesn't have a card as a Vancouver Canuck. First one with a good number of games played that I've come across.
  5. I'm fine with it play-in points counting as playoff points. It's what they are closest too. I'm also fine putting an asterisk next to any playoff scoring records that may be broken because of the play-ins.
  6. Sold my Toews Young Guns at a card store today. Guy paid me $70 + $35 in Canucks cards for my "1 of every player that has a card in a Canuck jersey" binder. I'm happy with the value I got. Probably could've more if I sold it myself on eBay, but honestly, getting $105 in value without the hassle selling it myself is well worth it. Plus, I got lot of 70s Canuck cards that now don't have to track down. The binder is coming together!
  7. Europe has seen a huge bump in "excess" deaths this year. Can't attribute all of these to Covid-19, but I doubt it's a complete coincidence. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53592881
  8. Agree that would be awesome. Disagree with the last part though, they would just yell HOAX/CONSPIRACY til our ears bled.
  9. In her defense, she's about to lose her husband for some summer evenings due to hockey
  10. I should listen to that album from start to finish more than I do.
  11. Another game postponed due to positive Covid tests: https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/report-brewers-vs-cardinals-postponed-due-positive-covid-19-tests/ This season is going sideways in a hurry.
  12. I have never been able to get these to work and this one was no different. Sigh. I guess there's more to life than Magic Eye....I hope.
  13. Looks like the Jays aren't playing the Phillies this weekend. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/mlb-coronavirus-blue-jays-series-in-doubt-phillies-1.5669022 I wonder if they'll play someone else, a la Yankees and Orioles during the week.
  14. I don't like the Blue Jays depth in the bullpen. Even the guys hot right now (Bass, Romano, Cole), I don't see keeping it up for long.
  15. In no particular order: Front 242 - Headhunter (from live album Live Code) Mind.in.a.box - Amnesia Woodkid - Run Boy Run Ladytron - Ghost Project Pitchfork - Io VNV Nation - Saviour (Vox) Covenant - Ignorance and Bliss Kirlian Camera - K-Pax Mind.in.a.box - Light & Dark Seeming - World Burners Unite All these songs were in my ear a lot at some point or another in my life.
  16. Pearson sure didn't waste any time getting his first career K, first batter. Of course he walked the next one on 4 pitches but he got the next 2 batters, so no harm, no foul.
  17. How good did Nick Robertsons assist look like? Was it more Gretzky-esque or Crosby-esque? Please spare no details!
  18. Sweet Baby Jesus Sportsnet, enough of the Nick Robertson headlines.

Because Toronto is in a cap crunch worse than Vancouver, they are going to need to hype young talent.

But to be fair if you look at his numbers in junior this year: 46 games, and 55 goals, 31 assists and 86 points.

Looks like a homerun for a 2nd round pick. (Burke would not like the fact he's 5'9" and 162 lbs. )

Maybe Toronto will trade Nylander and Kerfoot for picks and prospects.

  19. All Marlins games are postponed through to Sunday. The Phillies, Friday. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/mlb-postpones-marlins-games-sunday-due-covid-19-outbreak/
  20. Agree. And we're seeing the consequences of that almost immediately.
  21. Heh, or go to court and try to declare his whole life a fraud. It'l be no less true and much more efficient/quicker this way.
  22. I think it was the reality of keeping all players in a "hub-bubble" for that long. For NHL and NBA players it's just the playoffs, but MLB and NFL it would be 60 games plus playoffs for the teams that make it that far.
  23. Yikes, 4 more Marlins test positive and now the Nationals have taken a vote saying they don't want to go to Miami to play the Marlins this weekend. This baseball "season" is going sideways pretty quickly.
  24. That's not a small number. The Miami Marlins have more active cases than the Maritimes.
