  1. I honestly think Hronek and a healthy OEL is a perfectly fine 2nd pair. It's a matter of finding a better version of Schenner for Hughes. Mostly cause I don't think we can move OEL and I am 100% anti-buying him out. Moving Garland and/or Boeser gives us room to sign a top 4 RHD, even if just someone like Mayfield. Now our top 4 went from a joke to at least playoff calibre. Especially with a healthy Demko behind them.
  2. We had a historically bad PK for the majority of the season. Yes, Hronek is nice. But it's like having a ship with 12 holes in it and we plugged 2 then saying "at least it's not 12 holes." Still lots of work to be done. Trading Miller doesn't help. It just creates a hole somewhere else and either puts us in the same place or a worse place. I think we'd be better served finding a serviceable RHD in free agency rather than trying to find a Miller replacement.
  3. Well, nobody has really suggested anything. So far what I am reading is we trade Miller, and he somehow fixes holes on our blueline and also returns a player of equal talent to himself. Which if PA can pull off, that's incredible.
  4. I am sure the late 1st round picks we get back for Miller isn't gonna get us a Miller in return. And if it does, that's really a roundabout way of being exactly where we are with Miller.
  5. We create a hole to fill it with a lesser player. Just doesn't make sense to me. When we have areas that are filled with players we don't need that we should move instead.
  6. Lol, first off Dhaliwal was doing a lot of talking out of his ass here. Obviously yes, a 1 year deal isn't ideal. As he will be a UFA next summer. But that doesn't automatically mean Bear on a 3 year deal is worth the high 3s. Also, he made it sound like the Canucks went hard all summer trading for him or gave up a plethora of assets. Not to mention the RHD landscape has changed since last summer. Our life doesn't hinge on retaining Bear. Flip his RFA rights to someone else for a 5th rounder if we have to. But high 3s is strictly a Dhaliwal number. No actual report of that being Bears asking price.
  7. As one of the bigger trade Miller folks around. With the direction the management wants to go, the problem with Miller is we don't have two of him. Moving him puts a hole down the middle/down the wing. He has been much improved since being called out for his on ice blow ups. At 8mil, I love what he brings. Moving him does what? We gotta find a point per game guy with an edge and it fills none of the holes in our roster. Picks? For what? To trade for a lesser Miller? I only move Miller if we're rebuilding. Which is clearly not the direction we are going. His value to our team is higher than in a trade. We aren't replacing him and fixing our holes with that 8mil cap. We have 90 middle wingers we should be trying to dump for cap space.
  8. I am pretty sure it's a "dream to be in the NHL," but "it'll be special to wear the Canucks logo." Not quite him dreaming of being a Canuck necessarily. Guy is from Missouri, can't imagine he had much familiarity with the Canucks there. Lol. But if he did dream of the Canucks back in Missouri, that's kinda neat. I just don't think that's the case.
  9. Bedard, just gonna go ahead and keep wishing this into existence.
  10. So much for Tocchet being this super coach and Boudreau being complete trash. You can only polish a turd so much, still gonna stink. Our team feasted on really bad teams and this fanbase bought the hype. Again. This literally happened with Boudreau last season.
  11. Free prospect is free. At the very least it's depth for Abby. Younger guy, didn't hear much mention of him. Was it assumed he'd return to school next year?
  12. Aman completely leaves Bear out to dry on that 1st goal. Not sure what he was doing there. Lol. Hughes pushed up, you were covering for him. But completely abandoned your man to chase the guy Bear was already on. Oh well. Tanks gotta tank. On the bright side, was cool watching Boeser out muscle Edler for a goal. Boeser's net presence is a little underrated. Beauty passing play too. We are a bottom 6, a top 4 RHD and an entire 3rd pair away from being a good team. But no time for a rebuild
  13. I like Stud's wheels. Not sure how this other chump skates, but I'd rather just stick it out with Studnicka until we find an actual improvement. They are comparable enough pieces that adding Joey Anderson is redundant at best.
  14. No, the contract is definitely ass, but their window is now anyway. And low and behold. They're winning. Soooooo. I dunno. Besides, we have no clue how he'll look next year when he has a full offseason and training camp with the team. That blueline, goalie with Barzal and Horvat. With the right cap dump moves they can be a playoff team for years to come easily. They're a playoff team now and have been beasts since that trade happened.
  15. Just here to remind folks that the Isles are comfortably in a playoff spot. There was a time the Pens had 5 games on hand and had more points and people, that have since ignored me , said the Isles playoff chances were non existent. As of right now, the Isles are 3 points up on the Pens and they only have one more game played. The Isles had a +5 goal differential pre trade. Now have a +19 goal differential. Was it a result of this trade? Probably not. Dude is a -5 there with 11 points in 24 games. Lol. But 60% faceoff man. He draws the eyes of opposing teams, opens things up for teammates. As well as helps win draws for them. I just found the playoff race interesting. A lot of folks wrote off the Isles with 20+ games left in the season. Now they are 14th in the standings and have the top wild card spot.
  16. 1: Dan Hamhuis 2: Markus Naslund 3: Todd Bertuzzi 4: Trevor Linden 5: Pavel Bure 6: Kevin Bieksa 7: Rick Rypien 8: Roberto Luongo 9: Mattias Ohlund 10: Jarkko Ruutu
  17. If anyone needs a buyout it's Alf. He's not the same and I think it's time for CDC to rebuild. Guy is a bustaroo.
  18. I am not about the reffing excuse here. When you have 20 shots, and it took 3 on 3 OT to get you there. You had no business winning the game. Also, stop asking Kuzmenko about the jersey. It's not a big deal.
  19. This is literally what I said they should do when we traded for him. OEL and Hronek shouldn't play another game this season. Played him 4 games, averaged 24 minutes over those 4. Not smart work by the team. But at least they shut him down now. Let these guys heal up. The rest of these games don't mean nothing. Other than the boys feeling a little better I guess. Honestly. Wouldn't mind resting Demko up for the rest of the season too. Not saying don't play him. But give most of the starts to Delia. This isn't a team tank thing. We crapped on that train when we won 11 games in March. It's just a health thing for the main guys that are dealing with injuries. Demko doesn't need more than a two starts, Hronek and OEL should just shut it down.
  20. I love Joshua, but you don't play him 3on3, I am sorry. Lol. That was just bad coaching.
  21. I am just here on the off chance people overreact to Kuzmenko. I am not gonna lose my mind cause someone won't wear the jersey. It's far from the end of the world and his choice isn't hurting anyone. No need to get mad or hate on the guy. He made his choice, respect that choice even if you don't agree with it. I think another Russian stated not wearing a Pride jersey for safety reasons. Kuzmenko never directly referenced that as a reason, but hey. It's in the air as a possibility. All in all, it's not gonna destroy the movement. Let it be.
  22. Beat the Flames. I wanna watch them crash and burn. If we can't have anything nice, you can't have anything nice.
  23. Spencer Martin has one more year on his contract. But I expect Delia is gone. Might have done enough for another team tank to take him to keep the bench warm while they tank for Celebrini, Eiserman or Kiviharju.
  24. Nobody mentioned his skating prior to him signing in Nashville. Says all it needs to about the people preaching he's a bad skater all of a sudden. Again, skating isn't a strength. But from what I read in scouting reports and seen in a handful of clips. He's not slow either. He's an okay/good skater with a pretty wide toolbox and a good NHL body. It sucks we couldn't get him, not the end of the world either. We have other options.
