He was injured this year to end the season and in the playoffs. Last year he started off pretty poorly and the second half of the year is when he looked good. Where is the full season of stellar play you speak of? He hasn't had one complete season like Luongo or Miller... number 1 goalies who were established number 1's in both playoffs and regular season. That is not Markstrom. The league has only just recognized him as a true number 1 and in his first playoffs his glove was exposed pretty badly.

Domi is better than Anderson and they both play a gritty hard nosed game. Anderson is a harder hitter, yes but Domi plays 82 games a year and consistently puts up points. If Anderson doesn't play at the level he did in his best season this is a step backwards for Montreal and also a step backwards if Anderson barely plays which is also possible. Allen isn't Carey Price and Carey Price is the reason why The Habs make the playoffs, when they do.

No he hasn't. He doesn't even have a full year of being a solid number 1 under his belt and his playoff performance was not stellar it was hit or miss. Demko in the 3 games he played in the playoffs was light years better than any game Markstrom played in the playoffs. Markstrom isn't an established number 1 like Luongo, or Miller was in the past. He has just emerged and really as people pointed out with Demko he could be getting exposed which from what I saw his glove hand was exposed in the playoffs.

Carey Price took out The Pens. They lost Domi who was a solid point producer and has shown to be incredibly durable throughout his career. They replaced him with a wild card. This could easily have been a step back for a team that was already bad. Adding a backup goalie and top 4 dman isn't going to magically make them a playoff team. They could easily be bottom 5 of the league next year especially with a condensed schedule were Price can't play the majority of the games.

This was a team that was terrible and wouldn't even have been close to a playoff team if covid didn't happen.

Yea it's not his agent said OEL prefers to stay in Arizona but the team wanted to move him and now they haven't traded him so that's why he put a deadline on it.
