  1. Sums up how I feel as well. I can live with this. He wants it and has earned/earning it. I like his attitude.
  2. Just doubled back and watched the press conference. I really like Quinn's seriousness and willingness to embrace the uncomfortable and take on the weight of the role. Also the fact that he knows what it means to be captain in a Canadian market. He's not taking it lightly.
  3. Hopefully fans can let him find his own unique identity as captain rather than project onto him the type of captain they think he should be. And hopefully he doesn't get caught up in those expectations and he just remains himself. Most of all, I just want him to be honest, accountable, and straightforward rather than trying to say the right things.
  4. I'm ok with this. I like Quinn's leadership and his inner compete. I'm sure there's more of that we haven't seen. I wanted Miller. Thought he was the better choice from a slightly older veteran standpoint. Especially due to the passion he brings, which could have been an advantage because of that same heat. But it's a new era. Let's do this! Congrats to Quinn!
  5. Well, that settles things ... the practice facility should be in Edmonton.
  6. I'm thinking he'll be able to alternate between PP1 and PP2. His shot is just too good on that side. It'll definitely load up PP1 on both sides with Petey but also bolster PP2. I can see Hronek and Brock sharing that spot between both units. Interesting options now.
  7. Miller, Miller ... the "C" is such a thriller ... hot damn ... he is the son of ... Phyllis Diller
  8. Agree 100% ... Miller showed that. I really think guys like Hughes, Petey, and core could learn from Miller with the C. Hate to say it but Bo did get exposed. It's not his fault though, because he was ushered into the role and had the Sedins as leaders. Not bad at all but we need different, grittier, uncomfortable leadership, imo.
  9. Miller should be the captain. It's obvious to me. Especially how he lead the team through the pandemic. It made Bo look small. I agree. I want passion, uncomfortable, emotion, get all fired up, lead the charge, bang the net! Edit: Saying that ... I'm not opposed to Hughes as captain. It's a new era.
  10. In this day and age of "meh", I have to say, it's so much harder for trolls to catch any fish. Because ... Other people took the bait.
  11. After such a long offseason of training, unconventionally, and just how fit Kuzmenko actually looks, the guy has an incredible, high level of patience ... because ... while he was in Bali ... obviously he did a lot of weighting.
  12. Should be Miller. The meltdowns would be epic.
  13. Truly appreciate it @Ted Lasso The feeling is mutual. I'm honored to be mentioned. I'd like to thank the Academy, all of you out there for being my unpaid therapists, and ... Filip Hronek. Also my speech writers, Copy & Paste.
  14. I read the title as if Pearson appeared out of thin air and someone said, "Hey, he looks recovered." Tanner Pearson appears ... recovered from hand injury.
  15. Lol ... JT rebuilding his brand. Brock Boeser in the back.
  16. These types of knee injuries are starting to become known to require more time to heal than expected. If they want to give him a better shot at not reinjuring the knee because of rushing back too quickly, and making sure it heals even more, bring him along slowly - not every game - between now and the new year and manage his minutes or keep him out until the new year. Have him fully healthy for an important push after Christmas.
  17. Hey, everyone, I just want to say thank you for being who you are and being here in this community ... Like others have mentioned, this place has been a beacon of light for me in the darkest of days. Especially when my mother was dying and I had to fly from Vancouver back east to take care of her, see her into a nursing home, clear out her home, and make sure she was safe. I was all alone for months and only had this community as my outlet each day/night. I truly appreciate each one of you and thank you all for putting up with me. When I joined this forum, I never thought how much this community would mean to me in the years to come. Even if we disagreed on various topics, I still appreciated the discussion. Losing this place and not interacting with you all on a daily basis would be a big loss. I think I can speak for many in echoing that sentiment.
  18. I'm not crying ... you're crying! Beautiful! Thank you!
  19. When a problem comes along, you must Hronek Before the cream sets out too long, you must Hronek When something's going wrong, you must Hronek Now Hronek, it into shape Shape it up, get straight Go forward, move ahead Try to detect it, it's not too late To Hronek ... Hronek good
  20. Bad choice of words for sure. Especially when I used "agenda". No, I didn't mean generating stories that weren't there. Sure, we all talk about it. I do think D&D are stoking the issue - and have been for months - in an alarmist way and making way more out of it ... not conspiratorial but more sensational. Even JP Barry - Petey's agent - was laughing at them in their interview when he knew they were pushing for things that weren't there.
