  1. He would essentially have to work himself on to PP1 to make that happen. Chiasson currently being tested there, so could happen, but doubtful.
  2. Now we'll find out I guess. hahaha Was really hoping for Timmins or Hague at that spot in the draft... Although I generally agree with BPA, we have been needing to stock the D cupboard for some time now.
  3. Hope so. It would appear that they were waiting for the right day to do so - not giving teams enough time to test him out and before they have truly evaluated their own talent. God speed Gadj man. LW Depth: Miller (Being tested at 3C) Hoglander / Garland (one or both could be played on LW) Pearson (staple) Motte (injured) We are probably most in need of a PK LW which mostly likely determined his cut. He will likely need to learn to PK to make the team or keep developing until we need a replacement for Miller or Pearson.
  4. Pearson gets way too much flak on these boards. Especially for a 20 g 45 pt player with some grit.
  5. Well lets hope we're getting him through early before other teams have made their cuts. Disappointed he didn't get more of a look.
  6. Yup. Just look at the players that couldn't crack the Vancouver lineup to go on to have some success in the KHL: Nikolay Goldobin, Linden Vey and Phillip Larsen.
  7. I see he's gone with the scum-stache look. Suiting.
  8. McCann at 1C... Yikes. They're just missing a couple guys like Gourde and Oleksiak. They do have decent defensive depth imo though.
  9. Having Gadj turnout would be a huge win for this org. We've been in the need of some players that love causing havoc for the opposing team in front of their net. Bo is decent at it at times, but I've been waiting for someone with a Kesler-like edge to his game to make that his house. Rooting for this guy.
  10. Not exactly something I would gloat about. We don't need to draft a little twerp like Caufield. We basically got one for free in Garland. What we need is a Podkolzin and a little patience.
  11. A bit early to say they're both 1Ds at this moment, but this D-corps still doesn't have the depth of 2011 or maybe even 1994 imo: Ekman-Larson Edler Lumme Hughes Hamhuis Brown Myers Bieksa Hedican Hamonic Ehrhoff Slegr Poolman Salo Babych Schenn Ballard Murzyn Rathbone Tanev Diduck Juolevi Alberts Bowey Rome
  12. A couple preseason games for a rookie and you have determined that he has a "severe lack in the IQ department" and are hoping we can at some point in his career salvage a third liner out of him (I'm assuming you meant career and not this year by your tone...). Ok, Bud. Good thing you aren't running the scouting department. I'll instead wait at least a year before I even consider labeling him a bust. haha
  13. No regrets on Prust. He was worth the money.
  14. Well as long as Pettersson* is fine with it, I think we’re good. Screw this Petterson guy.
  15. Juulsen has had one good season (his draft year) and has struggled ever since. We don’t need another project like that. We need a tough reliable shutdown defenseman.
  16. And this based off of what exactly? Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Reilly… all drafted by TML… I’m not seeing a culture of young players not wanting to stay with their draft teams. There has always been a few exceptions of young players not playing for their drafted teams: Lindros for an example, RJ Umberger as a Canuck example, and more recently Adam Fox. There are far more examples of players sticking with their respective teams: Landeskog, McDavid, Barzal, Chabot, Pastrnak, etc… There has always been players in their UFA not wanting to stick with a $&!#ty club (OEL), and a good organization not wanting to stick with a $&!#ty player (LE).
  17. Can't blame the guy for wanting to win as much as the rest of us. The only difference between us and him is that he has the ability to more easily choose who he's playing (rooting) for - as opposed to most of us that are steeped in Canuck land.
  18. I wouldn't put money on that happening. Though having SEA in our division definitely helps with the travel fatigue that has plague this team for so many years.
  19. It's also not unlike Horvat entering the league with a reliable defensive game and adding offense as he gets more comfortable. Podkolzin has a lot of untapped play making abilities that have yet to be utilized. He made so many clean setups in the WJ tourny that were missed by teammates. I kind of see him as a Draisaitl lite in terms of offense.
  20. Asking price just went up a half mil... thanks...
  21. I believe the Grouse Grind was / is just for the rookie camp and hasn't been done since COVID. Last record in 2019 that I found: https://thecanuckway.com/2019/06/30/recap-vancouver-canucks-development-camp/
