  1. EPL I predict Newcaste to stay up with Norwich and Sunderland joining Aston Villa going down. Championship promotion will be interesting with Burnley (+33gd) in first and Middlesbrough (+30gd) in second and Brighton (+28gd) in third and all on 87 points with two games remaining. Burnley plays at home to Queens Park and on the Road at Charlton. QPR have been better since the coaching change, but Burnley should beat them and Charlton. Boro play at Birmingham for the next match which could be a tough game for Boro to take all three points. Brighton play their next game at home to Derby which will also be tricky for Brighton to win. The final game for Boro and Brighton will be against each other at Middlesborough, so either one, or both will drop points. So, I think Burnley will win the league and one of the unlucky others are headed to the playoffs. The playoffs in the championship will be either Middlesborough, or Brighton against either Derby, Shef Wed, or Cardiff. Hull will play either Derby, or Shef Wed.
  2. Not sure if the split numbers support this, but Loup seemed a bit better than Tepera near the end of the season. I know for the season as a whole Tepera had much better numbers, but I guess the 4 lefty Rangers bats numbers may reflect Gibbons decision for Loup vs Tepera.
  3. Well I am stuck with the unfortunate lineage to have my family from Arbroath and Gairloch in Scotland and Hemel Hempstead, Puckeridge, and Stalybridge in England and Sligo in Ireland. I started to cheer for Scotland and have no interest to cheer for England, or Ireland. I just can't and wouldn't choose another national team, even though I joke about it. The results are also somewhat misleading under Colin Miller too. He played guys that should never play at the national team level and the results show. With Floro it was nothing more than a training camp with friendlies I do agree.
  4. I say we will give 'em a good go at least. I expect we will need at least 1 point out of it. Scotland drop to 63 on Fifa ranking (generous, but Croatia and Skopje help) and Canada goes to all time low of 106 after super rich nations in the Americas like Haiti (78) and Cuba (84).
  5. I am going to start cheering for Spain and Brazil I swear to god! Our last 365 days as a national team supporter in Canada: Floro starting out 0-1-1 against 151st ranked nation according to Fifa... excellent!
  6. Funny how I thought Willan and Eden Hazard were probably two of the best players out of the top four leagues in Europe in recent years and now they both play for Chelsea. I look forward to seeing the load of new talent in the EPL.
  7. I agree with your picks other than Porto for Zenit. Very tough group for Celtic, but they all look rather hard to be honest. Shaktar warned about the goat thing too... I won't comment... So, don't know a lot about the Pukki dude, other than he should be a good scorer at least in domestic competition. I really hope the new signings start doing something. The team is just not the same without Wanyama, Wilson and Hooper. Also, my league prediction for the top four in the BPL: Man Citeh, U, Tottenham, Chelsea. I think the bottom four is harder to choose. Also, if Bale is being sold and Citeh and Chelsea have all this cash why not go for him? For me Bale-Negredo-Navas would be a nice front three!!
  8. Yeah, I come and read sometimes. Just not much to add. Thankfully the second leg of the Celtic SKG is on SNET. Interesting reading up a bit on Kazakhstan (I will admit I got side tracked and started reading about Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan too). League cup tie tomorrow between Villa-Rotherham is a replay of the first ever league cup finale. Free tickets for anyone who saw the match live! (1961)
  9. They did Borat proud. Side note Mouyokolo sucks dogs balls.
  10. They both need to live in the country for five years before they can represent Canada at official Fifa games. So, for our next WCQ they will be ready if they stay in the country and Floro gives them the call.
  11. First Koffie gets his Canadian citizenship now Camillo. http://www.whitecapsfc.com/news/2013/07/camilo-canada With Benito Floro taking over it can only be an improvement over Hart for our national program and hopefully a couple of nice additions if these guys end up donning the red and white.

  13. yeah, imagine if we grabbed that point in Barcelona. I dunno about you guys but, I am not a fan of Lustig. Bad marking a lot of the times I see him. Other than the OG in the league game I am loving Ambrose. I'd like to see him and Mulgrew with emilio and Mathews on the wings for all the big games. For what was considered a somewhat risky decision to hire Lennon he's sure making a lot of right moves. His style fits us really well and I love him celebrating every goal too. Him and Di Canio are awesome to watch on the sidelines. Oh and Man City suck in the Champions league. They are saying Mancini is in risk of losing his job, what a crock of crap. Anyone watching the games knows other than him going onto the pitch there isn't much he could've done different.
  14. Anyone post Camilo doing the gangnam style?
  15. Yeah, I was not pleased with the marking on the 2nd Barcelona goal. But, we did great considering everything. Also, what about Ambrose and his goal celebration against the saints.
  16. The thing is just like when I played in Northern BC, I had a great coach for 3 years (he was Australian) then after that it was total garbage coaching for a couple years after that and when I moved the programs here were okay, but I quit after one season because I wasn't enjoying it. I mean Daniel and Dominic Imhof played in the bulkley valley soccer league around the same time I was but they moved to Europe to further their careers. There is no pro league in Canada and the Canadian Soccer League only has teams in Ontario and are amateur/semi-pro. The USA has MLS/USL/NASL as well as college and high school leagues that are far superior to anything we have here. 4 pro clubs (FC Edmonton-Montreal Impact FC-Toronto FC-Whitecaps FC) isn't going to develop our talent enough. In bc we have the PCSL which is amateur at best and it's friends and family watching kinda thing. The Canadian Soccer Association is also broke. If most countries play 2 friendlies, Canada will play one, because that's all the plane tickets they can afford. It also doesn't help whenever we get talented players they want to play for another country: Asmir Begovic (Bosnia) Steven Vitoria (Portugal) Daniel Fernandes (Portugal) Ricardo Ferreira (Portugal) Fraser Arid (Scotland) Caolan Lavery (N. Ireland) Jr Hoilet (England) Owen Hargreaves (England) Jonathan De Guzman (Holland) Alain Rochat (Switzerland) Teal Bunbury (USA) Landon Donovan has a Canadian dad, but of course choose the USA. I think Joe Cannon is somewhat similar. Losing that game puts our program back at least another 4 years too. Maybe I should bandwagon like other people and start cheering for Brazil and Spain instead of Scotland and Canada.
  17. I can deal with the Belgium loss. I expected it tbh. 6-0 losing to Honduras is unacceptable for Canada. The CSA needs a revamp as does the coaching staff. I know Hart is renowned world wide for his time coaching Nova Scotia Donair Kings........
  18. ya, 20 mins left. Time for Honduras to start flopping around on the floor to kill the clock. Brutal red card on Occean in the Canada game. They better be calling Lucas Cavallini in Uruguay and Marcus Haber in England if they can't win an appeal. 4 days until we play Honduras and we need another striker. there are feeds in Spanish on hahasport if people want to see the end of Panama-Honduras.
  19. doh.. have the newcastle game on right now.. well... I guess I expected them to progress anyway. Too bad in the hearts game, yeah that was rank keeping by pepe. I always go for the Scotland clubs in europe for obvious reasons. Kenny called up for Scotland next month so I hope it gets em going for the caps. I wonder if Forster is gonna get the callup for england.
  20. I'd say group D is the toughest. Group B perhaps the weakest.
  21. Well minus the £5m from Ki it is probably just above £2m now. They will pay that off and my guess is bank at least %50 of the £15m left to cover any costs over the next two years. I would assume that will leave Neil with about £7m-£7.5m left for a couple of players.I did read that the sum was more in the £20m range which would be even better.
