  1. I always knew you had that old time humour
  2. Top picks are essentially ready to step in the NHL as the league is a win now type of league. Sure Juolevi is ready but I would rather have a top 2 potential/top 4 ready prospect than a NHL prospect. You realize that defensive prospects have a harder time because the top 10 teams usually suck and you're being thrown in, only the Ekblads are able to handle that and they usually go 1st overall. So be upset that Sergechev is dominating but he's in a setting that can use him properly instead of desperation, and Juolevi will come in when he's ready/we're ready
  3. Since the Sedins are probably close to retirement I wouldn't be opposed to keeping them one more year having Pettersson as their winger, while they rely on defensive partners the time has come where they will be 3rd line players, so they can have Pettersson with them watching how they commit themselves on the ice/off plus having the Sedins play with him will help his transition from Swedan quite easily. I thought about Utica but we have 2 Swedish hero's who can make it easier on the kid.
  4. All he needs is confidence, his speed is unreal, he's shown puck handling. I think he just needs to work on his planning and take his edge to the net. His speed matches some of the best in the NHL, and the fact he's a takeaway machine could provide a lot of use in the top 6, he just needs to utilize his teammates better.
  5. Only 1 problem, Liljegren will be on Team Sweden. So a Leafs prospect will be feeding Pettersson the puck.
  6. Speaking from experience I've been in St Albert for 3 years and I'm trying to come back to BC. You can have as many good coworkers as you want and I still feel isolated, I mean there's not a single family member here. Tryamkin is pretty much my age and I understand why he left, Vancouver was so sudden and he left everything, he still wants to play in the NHL but he's still young.
  7. If that's what it takes to join the KHL I have to start following them ASAP. I can't skate but I'll play like P.K Subban in the 2014 Olympics.
  8. I feel like it's Greens idea, plant him with the Sedins and see how they handle themselves during game.
  9. I'll just come back next year seeing Juolevi is the new Virtanen...See all the positive posters next year!
  10. We can also make trades, he is a vital guy for Vancouver and if his speed can be above average he definitely has a role with us. I hope.
  11. Well I suppose it can be a hyperbole to say that, but I feel some days it feels like someone wants him to fail.
  12. It always felt like we weren't allowed to cheer for Canuck prospects that weren't the "Right pick" I don't care if they bust (I do of course) I'm cheering for them till the very end. Unfortunately some people have a "We picked the wrong kid so I hope he fails in his dream so I can prove I'm right"
  13. Oh I definitely remember the painful drinking, but the fever didn't give me hallucinations only pain haha. My early symptoms before "It hit" was I was feeling really really tired at like 7pm and I was just super confused. When it hit, I felt like a zombie during work, but I didn't get it checked until I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst feeling I have ever faced, and I described everything to the hospital, since it was 4am and they immediately had me tested and diagnosed for Mono. Yeah I had to take multiple breaks for a video game, I don't think hockey is on the to do list for at least a month.
  14. Because it spreads and stupid kids like me (I feel mature for 22 but I have moments...) Don't ask these things and before you know it, you lose weight, motivation/energy, and even laying down is painful. I couldn't play EASHL which is a video game, I couldn't imagine trying to play professional hockey.
  15. Maybe try to keep him in Utica/Vancouver to monitor his health, let him get seen by our medical staff and ease him in for next Season. Sucks it happens but looks like it's the status that gets them popular with the ladies. Wish that was my case when I got mono last year lol
  16. And Pettersson is playing in Sweden this season, so I was referring to the year after
  17. I enjoy that from him. He knows his position and wants to make himself ready first before jumping in. I'd prefer him to play again men in the top league before making that decision, and it allows a proper development. I mean I appreciated how McCann forced himself into the lineup but it did hurt him in the process, where Pettersson even with him coming to North America he's immediately eligible for the AHL. I really hope Gaudette and Dahlen enters the league the same time too, gives a top line up and would convince Juolevi to spend a year there, let them dominate the AHL.
  18. Oh for sure, it's just that while it's not truly special as I'm Canadian, I would love another Miracle on Ice if the Russians get stacked.
  19. While I'm disappointed that they don't plan out something that happens every 4 years for two weeks, it would be interesting to see if another miracle team can form should the Russians chose to defy the NHLs decision.
  20. Easy there, depending how you're defining there, there was a reason Bure was selected so late.
  21. I feel like if Virtanen doesn't pan out as we hope, having all of them play that line would make for a very punishing line.
  22. That's pretty much it, not every prospect is going to work their way up the lineup in the NHL, who'll play with your bottom 6 grinders to learn the defensive side(Though it does help when you have quality guys on your line, very happy with Dorsett and Sutter) but these skilled players need to be utilized well, and it doesn't matter how old the Sedins have become all that matters is they know what it takes to give these kids the ability to dominate the NHL. So stick these players in their roles, the AHL exists for that exact reason.
  23. While I'm aware you're a huge fan of Virtanen, I am aware of that. But for how much speed McDavid has, Virtanen was able to maintain the pace and even provide some great opportunities on that line. If Virtanen can play like Maroon on the Pettersson line, he could give that physical role that Pettersson needs. So example: LW/Dahlen - Pettersson - Virtanen LW/Baertchi - Horvat - Boeser I'm happy we're taking long term projects/Boom and Bust type of players, a guy like Virtanen/Juolevi/Pettersson are going to take a while to provide a great Top 6 Top 4 as opposed to the middle ground. Tkachuk is going to be great for Calgary, they're playoff ready and I enjoy watching him. Nylander is the same and they fit the organizations perfectly. It's a journey, enjoy the ride. They'll show their worth.
  24. Even in cities too. Do I want to spend $100 on basic seats watching the Oilers at Rogers Place, or great seats at $35 with the Oil Kings, and I can cheer for the Oil Kings.
