Ferland, why??? Whyyyyyy?????

So BC health officials think it’s ok to reopen. Instead of blaming them and their policies, we blame a young hockey player for lawfully going to a bar. What’s the difference between Jake going to the club than day a random dude going to the club? Is Jake held to a higher standard just because he plays in the NHL? This is just wrong.
My personal choice would be to not go to the club in the pandemic. That’s just me, I also go out with a mask. A lot of people don’t. I bet most of you here criticizing Jake also don’t wear a mask. Let’s not kid ourselves here

Nothing wrong with Jake going to the club. When 80% of the Canadian population is too arrogant to follow stringent distancing measures, why single out Jake?

Trade boeser to make it work? I don’t know. Boeser seems to be a younger Toffoli but at this time Toffoli is the better player. Brock will net a pretty decent return and will excel in an American market. His slow the puck down style is not a fit on our team it seems.

Slay the dragon game for sure.
Bieksa’s stanchion goal game also comes to mind but that win was the introduction and lead up to a very very painful memory.
although the Blackhawks game was in the same year but it was a bit further removed from the pain so I would vote for dragon slayer game over sharks game 5 any day.

Don’t buy the forth line role bs to be honest. Better player plays, he should’ve been in instead of Schaller lmao

It still puts people at risk unnecessarily.
Give them a break they are kids of healthcare people for crying out loud. So it’s better that doctors, hospital workers and nurses stay home to take care of the kids instead of saving lives? It’s a sacrifice that everybody is making.

Impressive, they seem to be on the other side of the curve. I see Wuhan has reported 0 new cases today, seems the timeline is more like 2 months with containment.
Wuhan had extreme measures in place including barely having people on the streets. People go out in biohazard suits and masks with goggles. What is happening here is not nearly as restrictive as Wuhan so I doubt 2 months would do the trick

Honestly at this point I am scared. Scared not because the virus is out there but scared that nobody is doing anything to try to contain it. Say what you want about China and how the virus started there but look at their containment effort and result. I don’t know, I feel like tough times like these call for extreme measures and we should be ready to abide to extreme measures. Stop going on a cruise of traveling to hot zones for god sake

Those vaccines are being made everywhere in the world. A very small percentage of these so called vaccines actually progress to the next stage it seems.

So sad that it's looking more and more like the rest of the season is done. I'm not ready to go without Canucks hockey for weeks on end.
Not weeks on end. We are looking at months or potentially cancellation of the 2020-2021 season. Next time we play again it could be an away game at Seattle. This is not exaggeration boys. It’s getting more serious and won’t change until a vaccine or something is developed.

Did we see the last game of the season against the islanders? Certainly hope not, I wonder how the JT Miller pick situation would play out if our season just ends right there. It’s unfair for the league to just take the standings as they are teams have to play an equal amount of games to can given proper standings

Keep Brock with Horvat. Keep the Petey Miller Toffoli line. Tofu is scoring and skating way better than Brock so far.

When is marky ready. I heard reports that he skated
-
It’s about right guys. Demko is just what Demko is, a backup goalie right now. Let’s just put it this way, he is average. Marky please come back
-
Can Demko just like steal one game for us? Is that too much to ask?

Another landslide close to the end of the season to fall out of a playoff spot. Don’t understand how they can do the same thing year after year

Is anyone else panicked enough to think we should swap DiPietro with Demko?
No... we’ve seen how bad Dipietro is and it can’t be erased from my mind. Demko this game is playing like a kid. All of a sudden he makes crazy saves but when it comes to regular common saves he couldn’t make any. This is it guys. No marky no playoffs I guess

3 hours ago, Jimmy McGill said:social media is worse than the schoolyard, and our lazy mainstream media doesn't do much better.
Canada has been commended for our system, particularly our ability to run down cases and determine who needs to be isolated, etc. We do that well and quickly. We also don't fan the flames with misinformation or over-react. So many people are calling for "action" like the quarantines they're seeing in other countries, but all that does is scare people and they don't report they're sick, and then go out and infect even more people.
Our healthcare experts know what they're doing, lets let them do their jobs.
So what have they been doing? Youtube What Edmonton doctors are saying about their own Alberta health. What the government is doing now is down playing the impact this virus has. They don’t want a huge panic, which is understandable but unfortunately not raising awareness and false information is the trade off.
What is happening in Germany? They are declaring this a pandemic themselves and pouring all the resources they manage to gather into combating it. What makes you think our medical minds are somehow more superior than others?
This is also unprecedented in recent history. Canada has never been hit with an epidemic outside of sars. Sars had a much lower infection rate than this one and only came to Canada at the tail end of its existence. The impact this has on a global scale already exceeded sars.
So yea, it bugs me when you say for sure that “they know what they are doing”. Every country that has been hit by this are unable to contain it, none. So when you say definitively that they know what they are doing or is confident that this virus won’t spread in our country is at best a wrongly optimistic view. No one on earth knows how to combat this virus, but you somehow think we can handle it? Out of what proof or evidence do you have to base this comment on? So we have a tight handle on this but some how we had 8 cases confirmed yesterday? Does the fact itself not contradict your false sense of confidence?
Even doctors themselves admit, using the Edmonton doctor as example, that they don’t know what the heck is going on.
I don’t think this virus will kill us all but it will impact a lot of people. Thousands of people have died, peoples lives are turned upside down in quarantines and city lockdowns. Economy is collapsing left right front and back. Look at the stock markets around the globe? Does global reaction to this virus not mean anything to you?
Please stop down playing the severity of the situation. Sure, most of us won’t get it and this will probably pass. But you think if not for the media blowing this up people would even be aware of this? Awareness is the first thing in this type of situation. Containment effort is done collectively. Everyone is paying the price to fight this virus and you are too so don’t act as if you can somehow see through this situation better than others.

um.... you realize that corona viruses are a family of flu viruses? what do you think it is?
no, we are not stupid for not panicking. Thats the right thing to do when facing a major problem.
Do you really think places like the BC Centre for Disease control is just there to spread misinformation?
A family of sars not flu.

Are you truly scared right now?
Yes I am. So should you

Anyone who thinks the Canadian government or the BC provincial government is doing a good job must give their head a shake. Do you seriously believe the officials when they tell you it’s a flu, or it’s nothing concerning and that the risk is low etc etc.?
Think first, don’t blindly buy what the government is selling. Wonder why people in China, Iran, japan, South Korea, Germany, Italy, Singapore and etc are all freaking out??? Guess, just take a breath and think. They are freaking out because what, they are stupid? or are we stupid for not panicking?its very easy to see where this is going but yet they refuse to acknowledge the danger of this spread due to economic/tourism etc etc etc.
chances are low blah blah blah. Excuse me, but it’s getting worse, what are you gonna do about it? Of course, nothing. Because you don’t have the knowledge or expertise to handle this. Just admit it
