      Why would Callahan agree to waive his NMC to go to an AHL team?

      Why on earth would Edmonton do this. Puljujarvi is a 6'4, 225 lb recent 4th overall pick. He is 21 not 25. 

      Two seasons ago Virtanen scored 19 points in 65 AHL games. Would you have wanted to drop him back then for  Callahan?

      You know what, I forgot about the NMC

       

      As for Virtanen for Callahan, no - we're taking the long road to rebuild. And, we don't need a competent winger like the Oilers do. Now I get that Callahan might be setting the bar a little too low, but he's still a (albeit past his prime) skilled forward with captaincy and playoff experience.
