  1. Yes I am. But I’m more so tired of this team not having a direction. This is the exact same thing they did under jim benning. the end goal is winning a cup not just hopefully make the playoffs and get bounced in the first round. I would ask u aren’t u tired of this team being the laughing stock of the nhl and always being too good to get a great draft pick and not good enough to be a contender let alone even make the playoffs.
  2. This is so funny the redwings are far closer to competing than the Canucks are. And they’re willing to sell hronek. I wonder why? canucks getting right player. Slight overpay. terrible timing for this organization. they now have to compete next year. If they extend him he’ll probably be making 6.5-7.5 and be 27 years old. I have a feeling it’s going to be another it Miller situation. Everyone wants him to stay until he signs a massive extension then a terrible contract.
  3. They ain’t making the playoffs anytime soon
  4. They paid too much because they can’t afford to give up that draft capital. assuming the islanders pick was this year and the second is obviously going to be early. those could legitimately be Canucks #2 and #3 best prospects. because this teams prospect pool is absolutely atrocious. Was the price paid fair yeah maybe. But not for the canucks
  5. Just an absolute terrible trade. good player fills big need on roster. Paid way too much. And definately not the right timing for this team. same as it always is for the last decade. Start moving in the right direction with a few smal steps. then take 10 giant leaps backwards. more mediocrity and always drafting in the mushy middle and never acquiring (and using) meaningful picks
  6. With how terrible this roster is constructed and even worse the prospect pool and lack of draft picks. Kuzmenko needs to be shopped around. Only way u resign him is if you can move boeser and garland with no retention and no bad contracts coming back with term. number one priority is trying to fix the defence with any cap they have this off-season. canucks seem to be one of the only teams in the nhl that haven’t figured out u build your team at center defence and goaltending.
  7. Ya it definately could be worse but not by much also I don’t understand how he’s only a minus 2 he was literally beside the net on the first 3 goals. And none were a powerplay
  8. O is that the rebuild where they thought they’d make the playoffs every year. Didn’t seem to work too well
  9. Man OEL is absolute garbage. First three goals he’s literally standing beside the net not checking anyone. Most useless player in the nhl.
  10. Ya I do agree keep his ice time below 20 minutes. Closer to 0 minutes a night. That would help a lot.
  11. Oel is absolute garbage. This guys career is toast. Absolute worst trade in Canucks history without a doubt. For how bad the Canucks back end is he still shouldn’t be in the top 6. That’s how bad he is. And making over 7 mil a year. Worst contract in the nhl
  12. I voted yes. But it’s not so much given up on the season. As I’ve given up on these players. miller should never have been resigned. The package last year of a 1st chytil and lundqvist would be a dream right now not to mention CAPSPACE. plus I think we might actually be better. Chytil is an actual center man. Miller is not just paid like one. myers and oel are absolute garbage. These guys would struggle to crack the top 6 on 20 teams rosters yet they’re in our top pairing (when Hughes was out). Outside of Hughes and Burroughs has been playing good as well. Our d core are mostly ahl players. Bear yet to make a judgement on. pearson is so useless and slow. For a guy with his skill set he doesn’t go into the dirty areas any more. Get rid of him. For the people that don’t want to go into a rebuild that’s fine. Just be ready for another decade of this team being a fringe playoff team. And no top notched prospects to help this team push it over the top.
  13. I don’t even think Detroit would take Hughes. Let alone a 28 year old 2nd line center on an expiring deal.
  14. U also forgot to add that sometimes rebuilds if done perfectly can go pretty quickly. LA Kings won the cup in 2014 were still a top team in the pacific for a few years then tore down and rebuilt. they’re already better than the Canucks with an absolutely loaded prospect pool. Anaheim Ducks traded for kesler at the 2015 draft. We’re one of if not the top team in the west for the next few years. tore down and rebuilt. theyre already better than the Canucks. And have a good prospect pool as well. these two teams did it right and it took them 4 maybe 5 years and they’re already fringe playoff teams. And definately better than this Canucks ten year fix it with duct tape and chewing gum embarrassment.
  15. U think the jersey toss is disgusting. Have u watched this team play? The effort of this team is disgusting. Someone throwing a jersey on the ice,as long as it’s not in play, I have no problem with. People are allowed to show displeasure however they feel. You think this fan base has no patience. We’ve been patient for almost a decade. Fans of this team have been screaming and begging for a proper rebuild. Yes rebuilds take time. The LA kings won the cup in 2014. Rebuilt and are already better than the Canucks. Anaheim ducks traded for Kesler at the 2015 draft were one of the top teams in the west for a few years after. Rebuilt and are already better than the Canucks. Both these teams are division rivals. Have great young players. Have numerous assets to show. And great prospect pools. So maybe if we just did something proper for once we might actually get a good team? But we have a couple young great players. Many old aging slow grossly overpaid players. No assets. And one of the worst prospect systems in the nhl. And to top it off we have been a cap cieling team every year for almost a decade. The one player we could have moved to completely revamp our prospect system and our defence and free up some cap space. We extended to a huge contract that hasn’t even kicked in yet. And he’s been the WORST player on the team so far this year. So fans are allowed to be upset and impatient. This team short and long term vision is looking murky at best. this team needs a proper break down and rebuild. The problem is there’s so many players on this team due to their contracts are immovable and are negative value. This is going to hurt for a while
  16. was hoping for a dman or center. It’s funny I feel the same after this pick as I did when they took petterson. I was uncertain and thought they reached for a meh player. I was completely wrong then. Let’s hope the outcome is the same.
  17. The thing with Dickinson and poolman for that matter. the most value with there contracts is probably going to have to come from sending them to Abby and saving the 1.05 on the cap. These players are straight up trash.
  18. Well as per capfriendly this team only has 10.1 mil available for next year. There’s no guarantee the cap will be at 82.5 as far as I’ve heard they’ve projected it to go up to 82.5. But they projected the cap to be around 90 mil for Seattles inaugural season when there team was announced. man’s also your 69.7 mil cap hit is forgetting about the virtanen and holtby buyouts next year going up from 550 k combined to 2.4 mil combined. so taking that into consideration. This team needs to ship out money if they are to get better next year but you never know what could happen or come up. they will have the cap relief of ferlands ltir but that doesn’t kick in until the beginning of next season. im really looking forward to this management group and their change in philosophy when it comes to acquiring players and free agents. Cause it couldn’t get much worse in my opinion.
  19. Wow I was just thinking this exact move that’s funny. I could see Florida not doing it just for the fact Lundell reminds me so much of barkov. but I think it’s a great move for both teams.
  20. Unfortunately this team only has 10.1 mil projected cap next year. after boeser contract. And possible halak bonus. This team might have 2-3 mil to resign or replace motte. Highmore. Lamikko. A 7th dman and a backup goalie. unless significant money is moved out. I don’t see anyone good getting a contract in vancouver
  21. To put the benning era into perspective. 8 seasons 2 playoff appearances. first was the team he adopted from Gillis. The second was a COVID shortened year in which markstrom and boeser were out long term when the season stopped. They might not have made it. some good trades many bad ones. Too much money spent on brutal players. Doesn’t know how to handle any assets. 5 top ten picks. And if it weren’t for bad lottery luck 4 of those picks woulda been top 5. 2 of those top ten picks were utter misses. You don’t get credit for hitting on a top ten pick I’m sorry. You have to hit on a top ten pick. Let’s look at the three he hit on. Petterson. reported by multiple people and confirmed by linden. bracket and many scouts had to fight for them to pick petterson over glass. hughes was projected top 5 talent in the draft fell to 7. Great pick. podkokzin was projected top 3 talent fell to 10. Another great pick. let’s look at some other good picks. boeser at 23 projected mid teens pick another guy that fell. Demko. Hoglander. And a lesser extent woo. All prjoect mid to late first rounders who fell to second round. rathbone I’ve heard was also a bracket guy. look at some of the good draft picks that benning mishandled. mccann. Forsling. Madden. Gave up on too early. lind. Gadj completely mishandled. Lost for nothing. I know not a draft pick but dahlen yes I understand he was trying to force his way to the nhl. But the team sucked why the hell not give him a call up couldn’t have hurt. not to mention the handling of tanev. And toffoli. this team under benning was not good and not entertaining at all save for the bubble. while being one of the highest spending teams in that time. And almost less prospects in the cupboard than Gillis left. this era a black eye for the franchise
  22. I wouldn’t really want Kane. But if the move was something like kane 50% retained plus a mid round pick for Pearson. a few positive for the Canucks could come of this 1 bring him in he gets his act together and excels. He’s a far better player than Pearson. 2. if that doesn’t work send him to Abby get him outta the fold saves 1.05 or whatever it is on the cap. 3. Also if his cap hit is only 3.5 coming to van they can retain again and trade him. I’d guarantee a team like Tampa or Boston would be more than willing to give up assets for kane if he was only at a 1.75-2.5 million cap hit not advocating to acquire him as I think he is a P.O.S. but for what we would be giving up to acquire him not really much lost there.
