Sea sickness, fast cures? 15 more minutes until this boat is out of the Strait and I will be okay. I’m sucking on ginger candy.
-
@-DLC-, our show is on! It's the Men Tell All. I am not really into all this tell all drama.

I'm thinking about going up to Vancouver for the day, but have not decided which day. How's Downtown Vancouver these days? Should I go or stay away? I want to try out my Enhanced ID.

Looks like you had a lovely time, Bri! Glad you hit up your favourite dessert place...I miss those cakes! I ended up staying at my daughter's until 10....had dinner there. We got a lot done (getting ready for the fundraiser Sunday). I'm staying at her place next week (she's go ing to NY) so she was giving me the rundown on how to use all her appliances, etc.
-
@Crimson-JH, that is great! Let's meet and go together!
-
@-DLC-! Our show is on tonight! A must see!

Gosh! The price of cell phones these days - the fancy ones! My goodness almost a $1,000 or more! I was changing my auto pay to get my discount per month, because that's like $60 a year! But my goodness!
-
@-DLC- ! Did our show start at 8pm this week? !! I turned it on and am lost. At least I can watch it again tomorrow!

I just Googled the Golden Bachelor, and I initially thought he was in his late 40s and around 50s. He is 71! Boy he looks young!
Oh my gosh, they should have a Bachelor in his late 30s, around 40s and 50s! Someone who likes hockey too and good looking!
Well that's enough of me discussing the Bachelor tonight. Anyhow, I think I heard the Bachelorette is moving back to 8pm next week.
-
Hi Bri!! Got in right before the show started...at 9. Boy, that Brayden huh? I can't help that I like him for some reason. He's a bit of a bad boy. But talk about causing problems!!
I didn't know what the Golden Bachelor was either...omg! Yes, we need a hockey loving bachelor for sure. On BIP Canada there was a hockey player (Matia). Didn't like him at first but he really grew on me.

@-DLC- !! Our show is on at 9pm PST tonight! I am happy that they moved the show to 9pm rather than 8pm! I need to go walking!

See, I get excited over the little every day things! There's always something to get excited about, even if it's waking up early every morning to go for a fantastic walk or if it is going to the beach, or baking cake pops, or hearing the cat meow at you to say hi! I get excited over many things! It's great to get excited! I find the little things to get excited about!

Brilac has lost 10 pounds since the Kraken Playoffs ended! Can you believe that? !! It was an end to my quality wine drinking of lushness and Dick's Drive In eating.

Great resume tips? I'm redoing my resume to make it ATS compatible and great. How far should a resume go back, is it okay to put a line under my name and contact information (ATS concern), omitting irrelevant information, etc.? I was laid off a few weeks ago and have been looking for work since.

I find that the newer trend is less is more. Make it eye catching and pop. Potential employers can follow-up and ask for more but capturing their interest and standing out is key.
Use the space to really highlight your strengths and experience. How it's laid out on the page/presented is quite important...visually pleasing to the eye and not too "busy". You want someone to read through it quickly and with ease, not have to struggle to find what they're looking for.
-
@-DLC- Yes, you are absolutely right on the money about this. Less IS more.
@brilac As such, a resume should be no longer than 1 page, regardless of your accomplishments, in my honest opinion. Also, you MUST talk about your soft skills that you bring to the table (i.e demonstrated supervisor abilities by leading small team to finish a project under a certain period of time). Make at least three points there. What do you bring to the company? Guaranteed you'll have something to say.
Mention personality. Are you team oriented? This is a big one. Nobody wants to hire a problem colleague. Ideally, you're capable of working alone or with others, with or without supervision.
I'll stress again. Do not make your resume more than 1 page. You'll have to talk about your previous work experiences on that same page, but limit that to just one or two roles. They'll have time to ask you for more details during an interview.
-
Deb! @-DLC-, our show in on tonight at 9pm! A must see!

You know when you wake up in the morning and make coffee and forget to put the coffee part in the coffee maker, but remember the water, and then you look at it in confusion... That happened to me this morning, and then I realized that I didn't add the coffee part! But then I did, and all was great!

@chon derry You know, I wasn't being serious. I'm sure you're youthful and fantastic, etc.

Do you just have one of those days that you stay in your sleep wear all day long and don't bother to get dressed and leave the house/condo/apartment???
I'm having one of those days! I am still in my sleep wear and may not get dressed nor leave the apartment - It's 2pm you know.

@NewbieCanuckFan, I did something similar once. When I was in 3rd grade, I put on my day clothes the night before and slept in them so I wouldn't have to get dressed in the morning.

You know when you buy a bottle of wine and you're almost done - well over the course of two days, and then you're like - why didn't I buy a second bottle yesterday? It's part of my diet you know. Wine has many great health benefits!
-
@Iron Fist I am a pro at drinking the champagne! I can drink it just like that! But wine, when at home, I usually have 2 glasses a night = 2 nights if I buy a bottle.
Champagne on the other hand, I can drink the whole bottle in one night.
