  1. I still prefer the original 1970 Stick in Rink uniforms as the full-time look. However, if the '94 Skate uniforms became the primaries, I'm fully on board.
  2. With 3 assists on Wednesday night, Hughes now needs 33 more to tie Dale Tallon(42), '71 and 56 more points to tie Elias Pettersson(66), '19. He's looking great.
  3. Henrik, I agree. Markus couldn't handle the captaincy during adversity and playoff pressure. As for Luongo, he was no captain. Just a figure head with a C on his mask. Remember Chelsea Dagger in '09 & '10?? You really don't have a clue on what's really going on.
  4. I truly believe he still bleeds Canucks colours and the game of hockey. When he was announced as the new president of hockey operations, Trevor said that the competitive fire and the game of hockey never left him. It's much better for him to enjoy the things in life that he loves instead of working in the toxic environment created by one of the worst ownerships in professional sports. I met Trevor in Kits last month. I told him that if I were owner, he would be the president of the Canucks and CSE and the classic Stick in Rink would be the primary crest. He told me that he heavily pushed for it to be the primary for the 50th anniversary and the Aquilinis promptly dismissed it. Here's a guy so highly respected in the community and cares deeply about the Canucks' heritage and history and then there is Francesco Aquilini and his two brothers who don't care except for making a fast couple of bucks. I do hope, someday, that Trevor will rapidly grow his financial portfolio to the point in which he and other investors can one day get the Canucks out of the Aquilinis' hands. Overall, the very best of luck Trevor. You've rightfully earned it.
  5. Great homage and respect by Demko. Love that he used the real and classic Stick in Rink and not the new amateurized version. A first-class guy.
  6. The BEST one of the four Canucks jerseys. It would be great if it became the main 3rd next season instead of the atrocious mockery of the original Stick in Rink jersey.
  7. Congratulations on your first-ever NHL hat-trick Captain BoHo!
  8. Unfortunately, Bertuzzi didn't take over a game on a consistent basis.
  9. Tanti had averaged 40 goals over a 5-year stretch on a subpar Canucks team. First multi-40 goalscorer in club history. Boudrias was an original Canuck who was a top point producer in the club's first 5 seasons. First 60+ assist player in club history and held the club record for the most assists, 62, in a season until Henrik broke it decades later. Those two gave 110% every night. Bertuzzi only played whenever he felt like it. He was no Jerome Iginla and he was no Cam Neely, two players who came to play.
  10. Absolutely not. Bertuzzi only had two good years. Was far too inconsistent in other seasons with his "it is what it is" attitude. The late Andre Boudrias and Tony Tanti are ROH worthy.
  11. Actually, I truly believe that Linden planned his trip around the home opener because he wants absolutely nothing to do with the Aquilinis. I wouldn't blame him.
  12. There were times Linden could have been more dominant, I agree. Especially before December '86. He was dominant in his rookie season on the worst offensive team in the league and in the '94 run but for a player of his size and skill, a career high 33 in a season was too low. However, I also felt that was always playing back-and-forth between right wing and centre. I also feel that his NHLPA focus got in the way of him having dominant seasons. When Linden came back in '02, his offensive role was changed to checking but he still provided offense.
  13. Linden and especially Smyl are full-deserving of their number retirements. Smyl was the first-ever career Canuck of over 10 seasons and one of the best all-around players in NHL history. Last player to lead his team in goals, assists, points and penalty minutes. Put Steamer on the Islanders or the Canadiens during his prime and his numbers would have been a lot higher. He and mediocrity should not be mentioned in the same sentence. Keenan treated Linden like pure crap and Me$$ier just sat back and snickered. That Orca Bay Canucks environment was absolutely toxic.
  14. I hope Linden will come out and tell all. The Aquilinis and their corrupt and clueless ways need to be uncovered for those unaware. However, I doubt it.
  15. He was away on a trip planned months ago which included missing the 50th anniversary opening ceremonies on purpose. Obviously, Trevor wants absolutely nothing to do with the Aquilinis and CSE and who could blame him? However, he will be present for when the Sedins have their numbers retired. Players who have their numbers retired have their own guest list and one could bet that Trevor will be on that list.
  16. You have an attitude problem, buddy. Seriously, you do.
  17. FINALLY. Common sense prevails. The real reason why the Aquilinis kept the corporate Orca is because it $$costs$$ too much to change the primary. Tweaking like removing the maroon and adding the "VANCOUVER" wordmark in '07 and then removing the wordmark and increasing the size of the Orca on the current new jersey doesn't cost as much as changing the primary mark all together. It's also a lot cheaper to use the sterile and weak Agency font than use the traditional Athletic block font with bordering. This ridiculous baloney about the "new generation of fans" and "Indigenous to the area", is what it is...ridiculous baloney. If only Tom Gaglardi and Ryan Beetie got the franchise, the Orca would've been history a long time ago.
  18. If JC were the logo, Aquilini wouldn't be the owner in the first place.
  19. Name calling. Very, very mature. Lol. You are aware that the Aquilinis even committed tax evasion when they sold one of their businesses just to buy the remaining 50% of the Canucks, right? Yeah, what other NHL owner isn't better than Eugene Melynk??
  20. One of the worst owners in North American pro sports. Butchered the Canucks brand for the 50th anniversary, very meddlesome, pushed Linden out of his presidency, very feared by his many employees. Aquilini only bought the Canucks and the arena was so he could build his real estate empire in the surrounding areas as well as the future add-on towers to Roger Arena. He only spends to the cap so the Canucks can be in the playoffs - that's how he makes his loot other than ripping off his employees in his other businesses.
  21. Also, if we didn't ditch the original Stick in Rink, there most likely wouldn't be an orca logo to come along and complicate the Canucks' identity.
  22. It's our Canadian west coast identity. Not some cartoony lumberjack that the club is named after.
