  1. Pretty unreal what this kid has been able to do since he's been drafted. Knew nothing about him before the draft. Thought we were going to get Konechny or some Defenseman and we pick The Flow. Started to follow him at UND and I knew we got someone special. If you haven't watched his college highlights do yourself a favour and watch them. From scoring his first NHL goal to what he did this weekend -- his progression has been remarkable. What is even more remarkable is the heavy, heavy stuff that he's had to deal with at such a young age. Really fortunate to have a guy of his skill level in our organization. It's been too damn long. Congrats Brock!
  2. Really admire his work ethic and how much tenacity this guy has. People tend to overlook him because of his lack of skill but you notice him every single game. A more than competent bottom 7th pairing defenceman and a tenacious 4th line grinder. I would not want to be in the receiving end of those hits. If he was on a playoff team people would notice him a lot, lot more. I can feel those checks and blows to my body when I see him roughing up a fallen forward during puck battles. I love it.
  3. Watch Horvat's speed during his draft year and what it is now. Holy smokes. I must have heard it on the radio or read somewhere that the Canucks' seeked out his trainer in regards to his regimen. From what I've read he demonstrates a lot of qualities that Horvat has. Good head on his shoulders, high character individual and self motivated. Put this guy on the program asap. Nice piece to have in your lineup; put him with the skill guys to protect them or with someone like Virtanen and have them bowl people over. Well done GMJB, Well done
  4. this discussion just makes me think about the hall / larsson trade from last year. if the oilers offered a straight up trade - tanev for RNH, would you do it?
  5. so glad our young guys had the opportunity to learn from him and play alongside him. this guy is a chameleon, a french canadian swiss army life who could play on any line and adapt to any style of play or tempo. just a testament to how hard he worked and turning himself into a guy who you could not take out of the lineup. i remember AV even using him as center for maybe 1 or 2 games. thanks for everything burr. so clutch always.
  6. Good job by Benning. This guy essentially replaces McCann's spot. McCann was drafted 23rd overall in 2014; Goldie 27th I think.
  7. kind of reminds me of marchand / gallagher from the other videos I've watched on him. relentless forecheck and puck pursual. not afraid to drive the net or play in the dirty areas. zhukenov, too.
  8. this guy is going to enjoy feasting on Talbot and Elliott.
  9. just throwing this out there, if he stays in the 4th line for the next 5-6 games but he manages to pot in some goals and assists, do you leave him there? horvat did a lot of damage against 3rd / 4th liners in his rookie season, this might be a way for them to get him going and then eventually bump him up. then bump gaunce down to 4c and granlund on the wing with sutter.
  10. Man, I'm so stoked for this guy and what he could mean for us and the future. I was crushed when Columbus picked Dubois, It felt like my nuts got kicked in when Edmonton picked JP and I was floored when we passed on Tkachuk. Didn't understand why Buffalo was in shock when they heard our pick. Were we stupid to pass on Tkachuk? Or did they want Juolevi? Watched some of his clips and I came away very impressed. He's not flashy but he's very good in transition and getting the puck out of his zone quickly. Good positioning, accurate and surprisingly hard shot considering his frame, just an overall smart dman. Just so thankful this was our reward after watching Bartkowski play every single night. Look more into his career stats and you'll see Juolevi has produced at every single stage of his career. At a good ppg ratio too. I really don't understand the hate for Benning. We wanted a dman last year at the draft but miraculously Boeser fell to our laps. #FIREBENNING #FIREBENNING #FIREBENNING came soon afterwards in addition to the angry armchair trolls on 1040. I guess Boeser had an ok season. Fast forward to this years draft, we didn't address our need last year and we take the #1 defencemen in the draft. #FIREBENNING again. Why the hate? Players like Tkachuk come around all the time. The only difference is the name on the back of their jersey is not Tkachuk.
  11. the thing i remember the most in regards to the rousey / correia fight: ronda's ring entrance. i've never seen an athlete looked as zoned in as she was under such circumstances. her first fight against an opponent outside of california and vegas. her opponent is from brazil, the venue of the card opponent is undefeated (9-0). ronda is also undefeated. correia just dismantled ronda's closest friends in her previous two fights -- singled her out as next. correia makes controversial comments regarding suicide / ronda's dad. ronda's livid now. both have stated they want to retire undefeated. for the championship. ronda destroys correia in under a minute in her home country just like she said she would. clutch.
  12. would you say he's comparable to matt beleskey of anaheim?
