  1. A lot of people give Craig Button unwarranted criticism because some of the time his analysis of our overrated prospects from the really thin days stung a lot of people. In my opinion he is right up there the Bobby Mackenzie, maybe even better in his Jr player evaluation. He seems to be more emotionally invested and passionate. This interview is exactly why I have always valued his opinion. It's full of passion and honesty. http://www.tsn.ca/radio/vancouver-1040-i-1410/button-dahlen-knows-how-to-score-and-will-do-it-in-nhl-1.682826
  2. The deal he got is equally as shocking as the return.
  3. Brutal deal for Ottawaz Whoa Napoleon, relax. Every centre, especially the ones who are early in their developmental stage can easily convert to the wing. We aren't talking about a Goalie switching to LW here.
  4. Ya cause Centre's have no idea how to play the wing.
  5. It's the opposite for me, people think there is something wrong when I am smiling.
  6. I thought I heard something about Hischier having work ethic issues and Liljegren not being able to defend at all whatsoever.
  7. Out of all the long time canucks to leave this team I think seeing Burrows in a different Jersey would be by far the weirdest. Trevor Linden in an Islanders Jersey weird.
  8. By looking at the music posted in relation to the title of the thread I am completely confused as to what eclectic is. Can someone explain this to me?
  9. Metallica. Working in Alberta amongst all of these white Oakley sunglass wearing, blacked out jacked up super duty driving douchebags is painfull enough. Having to listen to or hear them talking about Metallica nearly drives me over the edge. When you tell them Metallica is crap they get all bowed up and freak out. "Sorry I listen to hard music, it's too hardcore for a lot of people from BC haw haw haw" "Hard Metal best describes my life. I can relate to it. Sometimes I'll be all pissed off because my sled is running too rich and I just can't get it jetted right in the mountains of revy. I'll just bolt down the mountain, do some blow and throw on some Metallica. It replaces my anger with excitement. Me and my pit bull Loki will just listen to Metallica and chill. It's how I meditate. I'm so extreme that Metallica actually mellows me out."
  10. Sbisa > Gudbranson. I'd expose notthatGudbranson before Sbisa. How is OJ doing? Anyone actually watch any London games?
  11. 100% impossible to tell where this kid will end up in the NHL without seeing him play in the NHL. Some of the best d in the world today were selected after the 1st round. Calling him anything right now is a complete waste of internet.
  12. I'm glad you all got a taste of what it's like to be Canadian
  13. How would one go about finding out how Boeser is actually doing. I thought I would find it in the Brock Boeser thread. I was mistaken
  14. When I was a kid I cheered for the teams with the coolest logo. I was from Saskatchewan so I picked the Canucks because I got a Canucks starter pullover for Christmas and I cheered for the chargers because of the badass lightning bolt on their helmet. Bluejays because it was all that was on TV. Oregon ducks to piss off the southern Americans at work. All of these stuck with me ever since. Great point about the whole Patriotism infusion with NE. Another piece of evidence pointing toward blatant band wagon jumping. I don't really care why someone started cheering for a team, who am I to judge? However. When you puff your chest out because you decided to cheer for a team in the midst of a dynasty your argument holds little value in my eyes.
  15. I'm going to roughly estimate that until cable TV took the next step in the early 90's a person living on the west coast might have watched 5 games on TV if they didn't miss a single one from the 70's to the early 90's. They were consistently the worse team in the NFL so there was very little media exposure. No internet either. I seriously have no idea how you could possibly follow them back then. So watching like 5 games in 2 decades makes it pretty hard to believe. Why can't you guys just man up and admit you started to cheer for the Patriots when Tom Brady won that First super bowl. I have much more respect for a person who can at least admit they are a jumper rather then telling me they went into the underground to cheer for what would be the equivalent of the Cleveland browns today without TV or media exposure.
  16. How did you watch them on TV? They were terrible. We didn't get the American channels until cable in the mid 80's. from the mid 80's to the mid 90's they were terrible and were rarely televised. I'm sorry but I just don't believe your story.
  17. Haha ok, great story. Even as you moved away, how did you watch them on TV? They didn't start getting their games on TV consistently till the mid 1990's. When I worked in Pennsylvania and Ohio I worked with a lot of people from the Boston area who loved the Patriots and those people didn't gloat nearly as bad as the jumpers do today.
  18. Oh look you manipulated my original post, ironically, very patriot like. when I look at your profile picture, I say to myself, that's a guy who has an incredible social life. Probably president of his local magic card chapter. Its funny how patriot fans of all people can't take a little sass from people who didn't jump over to the dynasty at the most opportune time. Fan since 1996 you say? I feel bad that you had to suffer through the bad day(s)of drew Bledsoe
  19. Honestly I don't even care about the NFL. As soon as a player is drafted to the NFL they are dead to me.
  20. It's complete BS. Seriously think about it. That would be like being a diehard Bluejackets fan. Before Tom Brady and belichick the Patriots were ghetto. Probably even more pathetic than the blue jackets. So if you're a fan of the Patriots back in 1978 your cheering for the worst team in the NFL for 20 years for no particular reason. It's actually an impossibility. I say that because in 1978 you might catch 1 game a season on Tv if you happen to be one of the very few people back then who had cable TV. I know that we didn't get network USA channels until the mid 1980's and I don't think I ever saw a patriots game on it once throughout the 80's. the only thing i knew about the pats came from shameful sports illustrated stories and those bubble gum tattoo's you use to get as a kid. this is why I get pissed off when a guy from western Canada talks trash about a team he has no connection with other than their overwhelming success. If you wanna cheer for the patriots and worship tom Brady, fine, whatever. But don't start talking trash. You have no ownership to that team. You're a bandwagoner enjoying the ride.
  21. The only reason a western Canadian became a pats fan was because of their overwhelming success. If you're going to "rub it in" to the "H8rs" because you cheer for the patriots you better be prepared for some pushback.
  22. I have a pathetic social life because I hate the pats?! Haha ok. I know you have been through so much as a pat fan and I'm so glad you were finally vindicated tonight.
