Canucks to host 2023 Training Camp in Victoria
ruilin96 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
It was fun last time they were here. I got the autograph of pretty much the entire roster on a t-shirt; Hughes and Petey signed on the jerseys I own with their name; the guys that I got to talk to and take pictures with were super chill and nice. Really looking forward to another one of these! -
[Rumour] Nikolay Goldobin eyeing NHL return
ruilin96 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Goldobin is a player that brings very little outside of puck skill and offense. And he isn't elite in those category. He is a good kid, did put in the hard work but just wasn't enough. He is the definition of top-6 or bust. -
I think Islanders just isn't the right kind of team for Bo. They are a defense first team and just doesn't thrive on offense. I doubt Bo would put up any good offensive number the rest of his career with the Islanders (likely a sub 50 point 20 goals). Their system turn Barzal, who is capable of atleast a point per game player into a 55-60 point player. Different teams have different style and I just don't know if this is the right style for Bo. I am also surprised Colorado didn't push harder for Bo (atleast as a rental) as they really lack depth down the middle beyond MacKinnon this season.

Unfortunately, with people like him, it is only a matter of time before this would happen. Any normal human being wouldn’t completely lose it like this on a hockey game regardless how big of a fan or the importance of the game. It is an unfortunate outcome but if it doesn’t happen this game could’ve happened next series or later.

Benning watched Juolevi for a few games in the WJC and decided that he is "the guy" and he won't listen to anyone else from the scouting department. Granted, if Juolevi didn't suffer injuries after injuries since his draft, he may be a top 4 NHL defenseman in the league. But even if we didn't go with Tkachuk and wanted a defenseman instead, Sergachev, McAvoy, Chychrun were all available, it is an epic fail regardless how you see this. I was one of the few that was just hoping/rooting for Juolevi to break through, but as the years go by, the hope of that happening died out.
