  1. Elite Prospects is predicting a big year for Brock Boeser
  2. Anyone notice Petey's weight is now listed as 185lbs. He's been making gains.
  3. The truth Is 3rd rounders rarely pan out.(edit: that's just speaking for Canucks 3rd rounders, other than Klim there hasn't been many notable picks beyond the 2nd round) the Canucks have far more success with signing college and free agent kids like Hirose, Sasson and McWard and free agent signings like Aman, and Johansson. This management group has made Benning's entire tenure look like amature hour. Case and point, Hirose a college signing looks like he's leapfrogged Rathbone a 4th round pick. Only a month seperation them in age. Both 24, but Hirose has shown more in a much smaller window. Rathbone, albeit has had injury problems but even so Hirose's defensive game is much more mature.
  4. This is a good trade for both sides. For the Canucks we just have younger, cheaper options for the role Tanner provided. This makes room for Podkolzin or McDoungh to fill that spot.
  5. My 3 stars for the tourney 1. McDonough 2. Hirose 3. McWard
  6. So what's going on with this guys KHL contract. Has he made it null and void now he's suited up for the Canucks? If so great.
  7. Me too, Canucks Corner will except Gmail accounts tomorrow morning due to the circumstances so I've been told courtesy of Jack Gordon
  8. I think Canucks Corner is going to be flooded tomorrow morning. I hope it can handle the tsunami
  9. I tried making an account just now and it said "the email you entered is not allowed to be used". Weird.
  10. Also Faber said the same thing. Which is So Confusing because if he were under contract with the KHL wouldn't he be in Russia preparing? why would he be here in Vancouver? We need to know for sure.
  11. I heard he was released from his contract yesterday lol "rumors" that his contract has been terminated - courtesy Vancouver is Awesome
  12. Imagine if Johansson can walk in and take a top 4 spot at the rhd position? Who does he have to beat? I think this opportunity has dropped on his lap. He needs to come out gangbusters and seize this opportunity. Who's in his way? Myers? All he needs to do is play the same way he did in the SHL. He has the pedigree of a 1st rounder and he's (23) still young.
  13. I want to know what's going on with Zlodeyev. Is his KHL contract done? I'd love to see him between Klimovich and Raty. That would be a fun, but very young line. A lot of raw talent on that line. All of a sudden our centre depth has improved greatly. He has the polish of a pro player.
  14. I'm not against Hughes being Captain, he's got a lot of heart.
  15. It's not easy parking yourself in front of the net. Not many can do it consistently and take the abuse, the cross-checks. Kuzy is built like a tank though, he's got a thick body and he's hard to move. And he's one of the Canucks best passers as well, he's not just a 1 dimensional goal scorer. He's not PDG or Joshua, scoring goals isn't easy in this league.
  16. Yep, he definitely wants it more than Petey.
  17. This is why his shooting % IS sustainable. Because 90% of his goals are tap ins. It's like in golf comparing an 18 foot put to a 1 inch put, they both count as 1 stroke. But the 1 Inch put is going to be sunk 100% of the time. And that's why Kuzy's shooting % will be high again this year. Nothing has changed, not his PP opportunities nor the players he's going to playing with. There's no reason why he can't score 40 goals and maintain his insane shooting %
  18. I keep hearing Kuzy's never going to have the same shooting % and that it's unsustainable. Here is an example of why these pundents are wrong. You can say out of his hat trick he only shot the puck once. One was a deflection the other bounced off his stick, they're registered as shots but it shows you why his % was so high and why it is sustainable. Nobody is doing the math. Kuzy is going to score on 100% of those chances. And he's going to score between 10 to 15 goals on the powerplay just like the first goal. If he scores 100% of those kinds of opportunities that's 33% of his goal total for the entire season. it's going to all add up to a very high shooting % once again. Whoever is saying he can't reproduce his numbers of last year clearly didn't see the games or his goals, just the numbers on a sheet of paper.
  19. Pettersson has both the physicality and sublime finesse at the same time. This video here shows just how dominant he was. He's not 1 dimensional he can quite literally do it` all. And that's why he'd have my vote for Captain.
  20. I could see it last year, Petey developing some Forsberg physicality. He battles in front of the net, we haven't seen a superstar do that here. Even Bure though physical rarely saw him battle in front of the net. And the Sedins did most of their damage on the boards cycling the puck. Over the last 5 years we've seen him grow into his body and become a man. He's developing into a power-forward as he fills in his 6'2 frame. Something not many saw coming.
  21. Petey is not a leader? He leads by example and on the ice with his elite 2 way game. It's like saying Henrik Sedin isn't a leader. Both are and were quiet in the dressing room but their actions on the ice spoke volumes.
  22. Miller wears his emotions on his sleeve and that's not a bad thing. I think the media blew his actions way out of proportion. He hates losing and his emotions were real. I'd rather have that than him not caring at all.
