You were the chosen one. It was said that you would destroy the sith, not join them. Bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness.

Joined CDC in 2006. Not sure how to put it into words but this is a sad day.
Thanks to all the mod volunteers who kept this site going.
Gonna be weird not knowing what some of yall thought about the game, as dumb as it all was it sure was fun.

Nowadays I just don’t have the energy to really watch and invest my time in hockey. I have my first child on the way and a lot of my focus is on that and family. i joined these forums as a 17 year old back in 2012 and now leavinf these boards as a grown ass man. went through a lot over the years and ive always found myself around these boards even when life has thrown curveballs at me.I was thinking of joining the new forums but i think this is it for me for now. im just not on the internet as much and i dont find myself having the energy to engage in meaningful discussions.
it really was a pleasure being on these forums. Truly. I will miss so many of you.- 1

Slept in uncharacteristically late, stumbled into the kitchen to make some coffee and grabbed my iPad to get read some more reaction to lasts night prospects game and noticed right away the splash of red at the top of the forum pages. Needless to say, quite a shocker. Been here since 2006, lurked here for a few years before that. This place had become a habit. Hope I’m not too old to forge another one at a new place. I will explore the options available and see which one feels like it could be home.
Yeah when I logged in after passing the hell out after the game like around 2am, the red at the top of the forum and just below it kind of startled me like it was some warning our website was under attack or something. Then this..

It’s been one helluva ride guys.
I want to say special thanks to @-SN-, @-AJ-, @Roger Neilsons Towel, @-Vintage Canuck-, @Templeton Peck, @-DLC-, and the rest of the moderating team, past and present, who I might’ve left out. The heart and soul of these boards, you guys kept order and balance, and shaped these forums into what it was, an unforgettable place.
As for you CDC’ers, man I can’t believe this is it. I joined these forums back in 2012 as a 17 year old. Got banned a couple of times, and was able to finally find my way around @Templeton Peck who persistently kept hunting me alternate accounts before I had to buy a VPN and finally create an account. I’m proud to have kept this account since 2015, and man if I told you 9 years ago this community would be a huge part of my life back then, I wouldn’t have believed you.
I try to bring some humour and tried to throw a couple of NSFW jokes and rhetorics here and there as that’s the type of person I am in real life. I’ve had some serious discussion with some of you, good and bad, about numerous topics and subjects. In my 11 years here, I am pleased to say I have never used the ignore feature, as I appreciate every single one of you for your opinions and responses, whether or not I agreed or disagreed. Granted my tolerance level is pretty high.
So many damn one of you made this experience unforgettable. So many great and funny posters, the memes and laughs shared, the insightful posts, news stories, hockey and sports related news, this was practically the place I could go to to catch up on ANYTHING I needed and gave a flying F for.
I hope to see many of you in the new forums https://www.forumcanucks.com, but if not, then farewell. It’s been a pleasure.- 9

Dave Tomlinson back in the summer suggested he was returning to Canada for another opportunity. He was a former 1040 color analyst and worked much of 2011 beside John Shorthouse for better half of 4 seasons when Shorthouse was on the radio.
I think most likely that due to Ferraro still being employed another year with ESPN he will take a few of those games (2 that will be nationally broadcasted with the Canucks on ESPN) and a few sprinkled here and there, and Tomlinson will fill in the rest.
I also would think Tomlinson may also make appearances on sportsnet 650 with Brendan Batchelor, as much of last year due to Corey Hirsch's departure, Randip Janda, Brett Festerling, Mike Santorelli were used throughout the season, but none of them really were good matches.
Damn Mike Santorelli is a radio guy now? Liked him during his short stint here.

I’d much rather sign him in FA next season then to give up assets. Also I’m not really high on Pesce who is already kind heading towards the downswing.

He’s going to need to carve out a bottom 6 type of game if he ever wants to stick around. He has good set of wheels and when he’s motivated, is a relentless forechecker. He’s got decent puck skills but lacks brains. Fortunately you don’t need major brains carving out a bottom 6 career. 10 pounds of muscle is considerable. That puts him close to 200lbs.

You're aware Stutzle cherry picks constantly by refusing to help out on the defensive end? Something he and his captain have in common. That team's systems are a joke and all it does is overinflate their offensive numbers.
Stutzle in his first couple seasons for sure. He’s evolved into a 200 ft player and he’s built like a truck.

Pettersson
I think in a couple years though (or as soon as this season) Stutzle will surpass both Hughes and Pettersson. That kid in Ottawa reminds me of Yzerman.

Thanks Benning
