  1. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

For the 2017-2018 season Bode played for the US developmental program. OHL team that took him in the draft was Saginaw. There is no agreement or contract signed with Saginaw. He could commit to another college still, he could choose to go to Michigan again. He could go straight to the AHL. All depends what the NHL team finds best fit. And if you look up the rules, he can play 1 yr in the OHL then go to the AHL because he was drafted out of the USDP

    You. Are. Wrong.
  3. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

He will be drafted out of the USDP , so he can be sent anywhere. He could go straight to Utica, or go to the OHL for 1 year then Utica the year after.

Looks like with the suspension Adam Boqvist missed both his u20 team & SHL teams remaining playoff games. As the u20 team was unable to provide the offense without his usual creativity from the backend per one Swedish article. Then today Elias Pettersson & Vaxjo eliminated a limping backend on the Brynas club. Next stop for Adam is the u18's tournament (April 19th) playing for Sweden before his season is finished. ** I am not sure how his suspension effects the tournament.

Very soft ref.... in my opinion
  6. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Based on his comments, I believe he thinks it is being blown out of proportion. There is a video on the hockey news article. So you can judge for yourself.

Gotta love the passion... & would rather have him learn his lesson now than in the NHL. He is not the same concerns as Merkley.
  8. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Uh oh, after playing 3 SuperElite u20 playoff games for Brynas & 3 SHL playoff games for Brynas. Based on broken translation I gather that Adam Boqvist was involved in an incident where he pushed a line ref. Resulting in him being shut down from bother leagues until April 1st. Which Brynas SHL coach is not happy with as he is already short 3 dmen due to concussions.

Odd that you lumped these 3 together, as I have been advocating for the Canucks to move Virtanen to DEF for the last year. He could be everything the Canucks want Gudbranson to be. He won fastest backward skater in his draft year, which included De'Angelo / Ekblad / Ehlers / Larkin / Honka. (all very mobile skaters) His skating is perfect in every way, & he can finish hits down low with forwards along the boards or entering the zone. He has a bomb of a shot, which he hasn't been able to figure out the accuracy inside the dots. Giving him the ability to use it more from the point would add another threat, say if Boeser & him were both on the ice. His skating ability allows him to also bring the puck out of the zone himself, also his first pass has drastically improved since being drafted. Being an opposing forward, he is not the guy you want to come in on. - end of short off topic rant.

U18's should be very telling. Will be crucial to see a majority of these players against each other in a measuring stick type tourney.

Matt Dumba was just mentioned (more about size, but regardless). He is the type of player that would look great on this blueline. Basically plans like Biega, but in a bigger frame & with consistency. And why I say that is because, Jett Woo plays like a Dumba clone. IF he somehow gets to our 2nd due to an injury plagued season, that is a player they should target. Already 6'0" & 200lbs RHD, plays with an edge & loves to hit.

THANK YOU aGENT, I have been reading through the last 30 pages of this discussion waiting to build my case for the abundant worry about Boqvist's size. Eith everyone saying he is too small or will get pushed around.... His brother was a late birthday in the 2017 draft. He is about 18+ months older & already 6'0" and 180+ lbs. With Adam being one of the youngest in the draft, he has time to add another inch of height & 10-20 lbs in the next 2-3yrs. Last year there were people crying about Makar playing in a lesser league, but nothing about his size. Guy is 5'11 and 180lbs right now. Taking a snap shot at the top point producing Dmen in the NHL as of today..... Klingberg has most points & he is 6'2, however a stringy 180lbs. Karlsson... Ghost... Krug... Barrie... Letang are all up near the top. Players like Boqvist, Makar, Ty Smith are built for the NHL right now. With superb skating & heads up hockey IQ. Bouchard is has good IQ & likely will be an NHL defender. However this blueline has no one with the Boqvist skillset coming. That's a gamble I'd take 10 times out of 10.

There is a catastrophically low-no chance we end up with the 1st or 2nd overall pick to get one of Dahlin / Svesnikov. The names you should be getting familiar with are Ryan Merkley, Adam Boqvist, Quinton Hughes, Bode Wilde, Evan Bouchard, & Jett Woo. All of those guys are in the Canucks wheel-house & we just have to watch over the next 11months to see who pushes to the top of the pack. Then get excited to get one of them.

    1. Horvat 2. HSedin 3. DSedin 4. Eriksson 5. Sutter 6. Baertschi 7. Granlund 8. Dorsett 9. Gagner 10/11/12/13. Burmistrov, Goldobin*, Boeser*, Virtanen*, Dahlen*, Gaunce, Rodin, Boucher, Megna, Chaput, Molino*. 1. Tanev 2. Elder 3. Gudbranson 4. Hutton 5. Stecher* 6. Del Zotto 7/8. Weircosh, Pedan, Biega, Holm*, Juolevi•, Brisboise*, Subban*. Legend: * - waiver exempt • - will go to junior I definitely get what you are saying, however Utica should be stronger this year. Looking above you'll see that Canucks usually like to run a 13F 8D 2G roster. That means only 4 out of the 11 forwards will be NHL bound, the other 7 will be AHL bound. Also only 2 out of the 7 mentioned Defensemen will be with the Canucks. Leaving 5 being AHL bound. Basing off the canucks going with asset management, & sending down waiver exempt players the utica will get some players like..... Molino - Megna - Boeser Goldobin - Chaput - Virtanen Dahlen - Cassels - Archibald Labate - Hamilton - Carcone MacEwen Pedan - Subban Holm - McEneny Brisebois - Cederholm Sautner - Chatfield Demko Bachman *** you could interchange Boeser/Goldobin with Rodin/Boucher if they impress and make the team. But regardless that looks like a better & deeper Utica team. With a mix of skill and speed, as well as a few multi-year pros. I'm not saying they are Calder contenders, however you have to believe they will push to be playoff bound.
