  1. Virtanen Highlights 2016/2017 from these highlights its its safe to say Travis Green realized he is a LW and has moved him back there. That's where he played best in junior. Also he uses his speed very effectively in both ends of the ice. It creates a lot of space and opportunities for him. However you do see his sort of narrow minded shoot first approach. He is at least creating those high percentage opportunities and would have had better numbers based on some bad luck. I think he can be a good role player who can help out up & down the lineup for the Canucks In the future. (You have to love his sheer strength and edge, see 2:10)
  2. Canada lost 6-3 to Finland, Glass had no points. However this Kristian Vesalainen fellow who has fallen throughout the year it putting up 6 goals/11 points in 4 games so far. Also he only put up 1 less point in 4 more games than William Nylander in his draft year. Big body 6'3 209 lbs.
  3. Just a small note: IF he does plan on signing right away. Canucks are currently in Minny. Good time to go with family to decide & sign tomorrow.
  4. Best course of action is for Boeser to go to Utica & help them get into the playoffs & go for a run. they are about 3 or 4 points out & have a game or 2 in hand. Very possible. That way he gets more games, and possibly meaningful ones in the playoffs.
  5. If we pick anywhere between 2-10 my pick 100% is Casey Mittelstad. I'm close to thinking we should take him over Patrick/Hischier.
  6. Garteig is actually 25 years old... not young at all. We are due for another goalie. Likely a 17 year old CHL or USHL goalie in a later round 4-7.
  7. I'm not quite sure why there is any discussion about Juolevi's point production.... he was scoring at a .737 PPG clip on a team with the best line in junior hockey. This year he has a .75 PPG clip, after losing that whole top line. That is an improvement now points and worse quality of line mates. ALSO: He is also paired with Victor Mete a lot this year. Meaning he is taking the brunt of the defensive play while Mete joins the rush a lot after Juolevi moves the puck out of the zone.
  8. It is a huge misconception that any line (1st, 2nd, 3rd) needs 3 guys that are elite, etc. In today's game it's usually pairs that have chemistry & finding a complimentary player that brings something the other 2 don't. (ie - Hansen, Burrows, Abdelkader, Alfredsson) I don't see the Canucks walking away with Nolan Patrick, even if we finish last. Might be more someone like Gabriel Vilardi. Or winger Comtois, who knows what happens. We can always hope on a prayer that Adam Gaudette turns into a steal & real good player. But the reality is we will probably be picking in the top 10 for the next 3-5 years. Where we will need to focus on high skill players with playmaking ability.
  9. Have not seen either of these points discussed yet this year. However it is quite impressive to see the character of Brisebois. Especially seeing him being traded & named captain of his new team. His poise & leadership will be welcomed to Utica/Vancouver. Also on there is a lot of talk about him putting on weight, etc. Charlottetown would have gotten his new measurements when he arrived at training camp for their website, etc. Now showing at 6'3", and 190 lbs. Not too bad, another year & maybe another 10 lbs.
  10. I would say the Canucks biggest need is forwards with skill & playmaking ability. Our next generation will continue to have trouble scoring unless we add a playmaking center for Boeser & a playmaking wingers for Bo.
  11. Happy NHL.com finally has his updated measurement. Really shows how much of a bull this guy really is. Especially at only 6' tall. I would not want to have this coming at me.
  12. New series... AMC Fear the Walking Boeser.
  13. Amen, the only dmen we should be trying to acquire an asset for are Sbisa / Pedan. The blueline is too crowded as it sits right now. Tryamkin in trusted & played better than Pedan at the tail end of last year. Which makes him expendable. With the addition of Gudbranson & Tyamkin on the back end. Sbisa's physicallity becomes a little bit expendable.
  14. I believe that thought was debunked. Just google it and there are tons of reports and people saying he is NHL or OHL bound.
