I love this, shows how valuable JT is, honestly I accepted the possibility of a trade but in my heart I didn’t want JT to go his style and play and heart should continue to boost this team and push the young guys to be better, ya I seem like a homer but i always bring in optimism to start a season (I remember being optimistic after the Loui E signing)

this year seems a little different though

Winning individual trophies does not make a winner. We should know that, our team has never won. However, we've had plenty of our players and coaches win awards. It doesn't matter at the end of the day. McDavid will never win a professional trophy.

The best thing he'll win will be Olympic Gold because Canada is the best hockey development country in the world. Our bottom 6 is close to most top 6's at that level. Winning WJC's and WC's is always a great feeling, but doesn't really add to that winner pedigree. The proof is that the Canada USA Russia Sweden etc... rosters for WC's every year are filled by people who LOST in the NHL.

McDavid is not a winner. He's never had that mindset, he's been in the league for 5 seasons, nothing indicates it'll change. His temperament and his attitude reeks of entitlement and league-wide favoritism. I don't want that player ANYWHERE near Boeser, Hughes, Demko and our young core. I'd much rather have Pettersson.

However, you are entitled to thinking that he is a winner. But you'd be wrong.

Everyone said the same things about Ovi in his 13 or whatever years before he won the cup, now he’s a winner and everyones opinions on him changed. As much as I hate it, McDavid will win a cup in the same way (preferably not with edmonton)

Honestly not disagreeing with you, hes not a winner yet, but that can change as it did for Ovi

  3. Canucks in a good position, even if they choke against the wild we still get a chance at top 3 pick, taste of a little playoffs and draft lottery odds i call it a win, but obviously go Canucks! And i feel like playing a best of 5 round could gear them up a lot better than the teams playing the round robin bye games just my opinion

edit: Also if canucks advance we give devils our pick which will be in the 20’s, a great scenario imo winning a round of playoffs, or losing in the playoffs but still get their pick
