  1. Dallas for sure... Except...they will have lost 3 in a row at that point and be hungry for W’s...
  2. I know people hate the idea of trading Boeser, but something’s got to give. You need to look at Toffoli over Boeser as not just a straight up comparison, but as Toffoli plus a high end D prospect...not to mention the assets we gave up to get Toffoli. Given the fact that I’m also worried about his injury history, I’m fine if JB explores trade options for Boeser...
  3. The Canucks don’t have anyone on this list. And we won’t be a competitive playoff team until we do...
  4. I like this trade, especially if JB is eyeing re-signing Toffoli. That would be a pretty solid top 6 all of a sudden. In order to get there, some pain will have to be applied. I’ve said all along that Jake should be packaged with Loui to offload that cap killer. After Jake’s season, I could see Ottawa biting on that. Next year would be no problem, then cap-wise. The year after gets a bit sticky, but it could be massaged, particularly if the cap goes up a bit. Roussel will eventually have to be moved on, Sutter will eventually be off the books, and Demko will have to go too. After Markstrom’s year, you can’t really afford to not offer him a healthy extension. I’m also hoping JB can get Edler to re-sign a more age-appropriate contract after this one expires...
  5. Don’t worry, when Roussel comes back he’s the first to be sent down...
  6. The person who benefits immensely from Boeser being out of the line-up is Goldobin. And GMJB needs to stick to the Timo Meier comparison and not budge from that...even if it takes a while...
  7. I agree that LE doesn’t deserve Utica. I still think that if Benning packaged him up with Jake there would be a taker. Solve the jammed roster, too...
  8. Benning will either go for 4 by 6.5 or 4 by 7...whichever one doesn’t involve big dollars in the final year...and it will be signed before the season starts...
  9. Sutter will be a deadline deal. Probably good to ease Adam into the role, and with our injury history, we need some insurance for the bulk of the season...
  10. Ferland-Pettersson-Boeser Pearson-Bo-Miller Baertschi-Sutter-Leivo Motte-Beagle-ZackMac Gaudette Schaller Rousell (IR) Edler-Myers Hughes-Tanev Benn-Stetcher Biega Markstrom Demko Goldobin walks and Jake gets packaged with LE for a late round pick...
  11. If LE doesn’t retire in the face of a Utica threat, then it would be better to get him off the books now. That’s going to take a pretty good sweetener. I see Jake as the only option there. And honestly, after signing Ferland, and with the emergence of Podkolzin in a few years, he’s likely redundant. Were I GMJB, I’d try to get that done sooner than later, so I could wrap up Boeser’s contract and call it a summer...
  12. Honestly Laine isn’t that great of a playoff performer. The Jets should sell now on him and get some good assets back. I don’t think enough GM’s stay out ahead of the curve in situations like this...
  13. The Canucks answer to losing Edler is Brenden Dillon. Benning should be chasing hard here, because SAN Jose is in a whole lot of cap trouble now. Just like what we did with Erhoff. I’d offer a second.
