      i worked at the vancouver hotel as a waiter on the panorama roof...dal richards was a main stay there for many years, along with juliette....i never talked to him but use to see and hear his music, every night i worked..that was in 1963...rip dal

      Both sets of grandparents, aunts and uncles and my own parents used to dance to The King of Swing's music at the Panorama Roof! I remember them talking about it and it was a huge and special night out to go to dinner and dance to Dal and the Band! ::D

      as i think someone was serious

      people seriously disagree about things

      and all sides can be very serious about this

      even if some serious views are terribly blinded or distorted

       

      i use the word "really"

      and often on these boards

      as it connotes a disagreement with the reality

      someone is trying to impose on others

      and i do think you meant to say "really"

      I found those to be two of the least contentious threads, so I'm a little surprised

      It looks kinda suspicious to me.  Not like we'd ever be told if it were true, but I wouldn't be surprised if some conservative busybody complained to some higher-up at Rogers about the "lack of balance" in those threads and the order to shut down those threads was the result.

       

      Edit: if you've seen the kind of comments Rogers allows on SN's site re: Grier's hiring and Wickenheiser's promotion to AGM, you can see the editorial slant SN prefers.
