Yet another artist gone who had A LOT of playtime on my life-soundtrack.... from the Great Speckled Bird to Cowboyography... I Outgrew The Wagon to All The Good'Uns and all the albums in between, there's not been a time in my life, it seems, when Ian Tyson hasn't been present.
I'm not sure if it's an age thing or what...but it seems a number of us are hitting an age where a lot of our favourite musical artists are transitioning to music studios up yonder..... I don't think I could ever pick just ONE favourite to share.... Ian's body of music was HUGE.... his solo career and his songs recorded with Sylvia.... RIP Ian.... and thank you for the legacy of your music! And also for introducing new generations of listeners to what true 'Cowboy' music sounds like along with all the folk greats!
And so.... Summer Wages.... the song that got played in the car on every summer vacation trip to Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast....
And the original, with Sylvia....
