He is definitely playing a very pro type of hockey, same reason Lazar did burn the world on fire his first games back at the world jrs last year after spending months playing in the NHL. Its also obvious to me that Jake is nowhere near 100%. I don't know if it's hip or hip pointer but he isn't driving the net w. The pick which is his strength. He seems to be settling for perimeter shot. Let's not worry too much and just enjoy.

Lots of players love playing hockey in the State of hockey. Recently players like Vanek, Suter, Parise all committed. I think for Boeser it would be more so being super close to family.

Rodins edgework on his skates is above nhl average. He will pleasantly surprise people and he is a 200 feet player to boot. Louis Erikson clone !

Brynas was down 2-1 going into the 3rd and Rodin just went off !! He could have had a natural hat trick in the 3rd w. All the chances he had but the other teams goalie was solid. Rodin was relentless and finally scored w. 1 min 45 seconds left to tie it up. Brynas scores w. 40 seconds left and they win 3-2 Rodin w. 2 goals and was 1st star of the game again.

Ive seen about 12 Brynas G games this year and Rodin has been a standout not only for his team but also vsing the other team. 14 goals in 25 games now with absolutely no help. One of BGs best player is Patrick Westerholm a 6th rnd throw in pick of the Canucks in 2011 along w. His twin brother Ponthus. I loved the Rodin pick at 53rd overall, I want either him or Tatar. Tatar sauce went to the wings at 60th overall. Of course it would have been nice to get Tyson Barrie who went at 63rd overall. I thought Rodin started putting everything together. He had a tough time w. Shoulder injury and adjustment to the NA style game when he was w. The Wolves. He will definitely be given plenty of look next fall. Is he eligible to join the Utica playoff run in April ?

He isn't Niklas Backstrom if that's what you mean by creating on his own. If I had to compare him to anybody it's Louis Ericksson

Rodin w. A nice power play goal. He is playing the Nazzy half board position on the PP. The whole Byrnas offence looks for him. Byrnas is up 1-0 in the 2nd period. Legit pesopect doing it against men.

Only reason I'd want him to make the team now is because he would be mentored by a gift like Dan Hamhuis who is the epitome of a professional. Otherwise , send Ben down to Utica and let Travis Green and Nolan Baumgaurtner teach and develop him the proper habits needed for winning hockey.

You mean besides proper development, top pairing roles, power play QB minutes, build up confidence , learn how to be a pro.

Hutton has played 3 exhibition games , we need to relax and wait before we say that he is NHL ready. May I remind you how Fedor Federov dominated the pre season before , same goes for Steve Kariya. No need to rush him.

It's giving me a headache reading some of these uneducated posts. What's the point of hurrying out youth ? Let them master their craft in the AHL or CHL. There is no need to rush them. I'm a big Horvat fan but I would take Monahan 10 times out of 10. As for Boeser his game really reminds of Mikael Samuelsson for now. A trigger man on the wing but not the greatest in corners. Best case scenario of course is Brett Hull esque.

I think Brisbois is going to surprise a lot of people and challenge for a spot on the WJC team if not this year then next. I like him more than Meloche. Furthermore it's not an everyday thing that you see a 17 yr old captaining his Jr team which includes a couple of 20 yr olds and a handful of 18-19 yr olds.
