  1. Looking at possible picks for us in the 3rd and an interesting prospect is dman Joni Jurmo. He is 6’4 200lbs can skate, move the puck and had a really good year Jokerit U20. https://thehockeywriters.com/joni-jurmo-2020-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/
  2. Any company would terminate the employment of one of its employees if this type of chat was discovered and then made public to their clients. Whether a person is 25 or 45 they are personally responsible for their actions and all companies would hold them responsible for acting in professional manner. A company was paying Brendan $700,000 a year to represent them entertaining the public through sport. He knew this, he screwed up and he deserves to be fired.
  3. Being reported by The Star and here is the link: https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2020/04/21/death-toll-could-rise-in-nova-scotia-as-investigation-into-mass-killing-continues.html?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=SocialMedia&utm_campaign=National&utm_content=novascotiagunman&fbclid=IwAR1AgsNUpVsz1CeKV39QFi1u3awWgmdcmRra_0s6YDCLJAu30z_BDeTVtZw
  4. I live in Nova Scotia and the events of the last couple of days has really impacted the community. The details that have started to emerge are nothing short of evil and disturbing. However the province is known for its people, the kindness and sense of community we all share. While the motive I’m sure will be discussed and argued the senseless loss of innocent people who were mothers, fathers, and important members of our community and the memories and legacy of each of them is what is important.
  5. Is it just me or is there a lot of empty net points in this highlight package
  6. I agree completely and that’s why a trade like this is only possible if the teams performance over the next month drops us out of playoff contention.
  7. I don’t know how they are even remotely similar players and I think you are highly overvaluing Baer who hasn’t played more then 69 games, is 4 years older, has never hit the 20 goal mark and is currently playing in the AHL.
  8. I do share your hatred of the Leafs but I’m not so quick to discount a 23 year old who has scored 20 goals already in the league.
  9. What's the fun in that? With the trade deadline a month away isn’t time to start looking at what potentially could occur?
  10. I agree and I think a Tanev trade only happens if we are out of the playoff picture. The reason for the 3rd is that I believe Toronto’s need for a d-man like Tanev out weighs our need for a RW.
  11. Don’t you think that depends on how the team performs over the next month? If for some reason the team falters it would be ill advised not to trade Tanev as I’m unsure if he fits into the Canucks longterm plans and if that is the case we should be getting back something for him.
  12. To Toronto: Chris Tanev and Reid Boucher To Vancouver: Kapanen and a 3rd Round Pick Toronto needs help on defence and we need a RW to play with Horvat.
  13. I’m confused at why there are so many trade proposals that include Brock Boeser? We are actively searching for a top 6 forward so why would we get rid of a 22 year old that has proven he can score just because he’s in a little bit of a slump.
  14. I would rather hold on to Hoglander but maybe look at the long awaited trade with the Leafs for something like this: To Toronto - Tanev To Vancouver - Kapanen There doesn’t seem to be a lot of room in the top 6 for Kapanen in Toronto but he would look good along side Horvat and is signed for another two years at 3.2mil. Plus it wouldn’t be difficult for Toronto to fit Tanev’s contract at 4.45mil with this move.
  15. Both Smith and Granlund are on expiring contracts and both players can play centre and wing. Why go after a 30 year old Smith whose best year was in 2013 when you can go after a 27 year old Granlund with a higher ceiling? Plus as a pending free agent we get to potentially sign him to a team friendly contract because of his one bad year in Nashville.
  16. I think perhaps that their D might be beginning to be the source of their issues. This is their current lineup and I realize they have key injuries to Fabbro, Hamhuis and Ellis but their depth isn’t great especially with Weber playing on the top pairing. They are asking a lot of Fabbro right now and Hamhuis is in the twilight of his career. Could their issue scoring be due to their inability to move the puck up the ice which used to be a strength of their club?
  17. I couldn’t agree more but does that mean that there is potential value in underperforming players and a good opportunity?
  18. There has been a lot of discussion regarding our goaltenders and their value on the trade market but they are a very good tandem if we can keep them together. Michael Dipietro has some “hype” around him and potentially could be a good piece in a trade that a lot of teams may be looking for. When you look closer at his numbers they really aren’t spectacular and perhaps this isn’t a bad time to use the value he has for something else we may need in our lineup.
  19. Recently Nashville GM David Poile stated that for the first time in many years Nashville could be sellers at the trade deadline. The one interesting player might be Mikael Granlund who once had 69 points with Minnesota but has extremely under performed since joining Nashville. Could this be a value pickup if he is able to regain his form? He is 27 years old and a pending UFA and if he is able to find his game could be a good add to our top 6. Maybe there are others on their team who might be of interest?
  20. Does this mean that Buffalo could be trading Rasmus Ristolainen?
  21. As he is a former 6th overall pick he does have the skills to be successful. I’m wondering if he is a cost effective winger for Bo? If he is given more ice time and more PP opportunities on the second unit could he make sense there if other UFA possibilities fall through? There has been talk about putting Virtanen on that line but I would say at this point Connolly is a big upgrade but also someone that Jake could learn from.
  22. Anders Lee is a free agent and set to sign a big contract tomorrow. It will be interesting after he signs if it makes the Canucks trade for Miller look that much more appealing. Both are big bodied LW’s who have put up points consistently in their careers. While Anders Lee is 4 years older and the captain of his team, Miller is 4 years younger, can play multiple positions well and is signed for 5.25 million through 2023. I think we will see Lee make more then that and if so is J.T. Miller good value even at the cost? Is the cost not then appropriate?
  23. 44 of his 46 points last year were at even strength on a line with Eller and Burakovsky. Not exactly superstar line mates, unless you’re an Av’s fan, but really good numbers considering his limited minutes. One estimate to sign him was for 3.5 million over 3 years.
