  1. I didn't say he was going to be a tough guy or anything like that I said he would bring more grit than Tanev. I am realistic about what he brings. Some not tons of offense. Some but not tons of grit and a solid defensive game. With tons of heart and a team player. Tanev was the last 3 but had little grit and little if any offense. Poolman is bringing a more complete game. Tanev is one dimensional. He just does it really good.
  2. I said let Demko be starter in the beginning of the season. I said Hotlby was far past his prime and people where all your crazy Demkos still pretty much a backup. I think I will keep with my gut and advance stats. The advance stats clearly shows he is a pure defensive defenseman and his second season showed he has a scoring touch to his game.
  3. I would consider him a 2nd unit pk guy not a top unit defensive d-man
  4. All of our D-men have roles to bring Hughes 1st until PP and offense on the first pair OEL 2ND unit PP and 1st unit PK offense on the 2nd pairing. Relieve pressure from Hughes Myers 2nd unit PP and offense on the 3rd pair. Pressure release for OEL and Hughes. Poolman 1st unit PK and defensive partner for either Hughes or OEL Hamonic 2nd unit PK and defensive partner for OEL or Hughes Rathbone 2nd unit PK and defensive partner with a vet like Myers. I Think this is a balance not a complementary pairing. Both can be offensive and back one another up defensive
  5. That's right I am predicting Tucker Poolman will be better than Tanev. He will bring the same defensive game as Tanev but bring more grit and offensive side than Tanev ever did. I predict That Poolman will play in the top 4 as a partner either with Hughes or OEL with Myers on the third pairing with Rathbone. I make this predicting because I simply ask myself who is going to be the defensemen on the PK. Hughes, no. Myers, no OEL and Poolman yes Rathbone and Hamonic yes Poolman will have to play top PK mins and this will make him better defensively. I fully expect that Shaw will be running the PK and in extension the defense. This signing screams Shaw all over it. Poolman is a player who will give a team everything because it took everything from him to get here and under the guidance of Shaw he will even become better. If Ian Clark is the top goalie coach I would call Shaw a top 3 defensive coach. Poolman will be our next Burrows but just on defense. The guy making 2.5 mill who deserves 5 mill.
  6. First of all the NMC wasn't announced when I wrote this and now I am going to make a bolder prediction. Halak will never play ten games and Martin Spencer will take the back up spot well Halak sits in the press box as the third goalie. That's right I predict at some point The Canucks will carry 3 goalies.
  7. Hughes IMO is getting a short term deal 2-3 years for 5-6 mill. EP will get signed first because he has negotiating rights what ever is left after EP and Dickenson is signed that's what Hughes will get. If Hughes doesn't like it he might have to sit for awhile. Just go to cap friendly and work the numbers. I believe this is the same reason EP won't sign a offer sheet if he takes to much Hughes will have to take far less. Yes people I know what Hughes agent said about looking at long terms for Hughes but that can't happen unless the cap hit is low. Simple Hughes contract is very much tied with EPs if EP takes a lot Hughes gets less. If EP takes 7 mill Hughes gets about the same. If EP takes more than 7 mill it comes from Hughes contract. Only other player that determines Hughes contract is how much Dickenson gets. Simply put Hubhes will sign after EP even maybe Dickenson as well
  8. Do him the respect and write his name right as this will probably be the thank you thread for him
  9. Wow I like this post this years by far Our young core is done with losing if they get into the playoffs I expect great things
  10. You like most don't get it if Halak plays like Holtby does he deserve to be here and cost the Canucks an extra 1.25 mill
  11. Remember people I wrote this topic I am a big fan of MD and believe he is far better than any backup we got or could have got for the cap hit
  12. People I didn't write the contract JB did I just interpreted a scenario I think is highly probable
  13. In that scenario I would say MD becomes the starter he would over take Halak
  14. If doesn't mean rooting for it. I just think MD is Better
  15. Demko goes down this team is done This isn't for just the Canucks but 90% of the teams I hate that responds any team lose their starter it is an up hill climb
  16. No better off if Halak plays like shi#t Or they could be
  17. What if Halak performs like Holtby JB learned his lesson
  18. Not me thinking like that JB did I just translated it
