-Brashear was the toughest guy in the league at one point and so I’ll probably have to go with him (although Brash sometimes had a tendency to forget about his role)
-Rypien may have been pound for pound.
-Odjick probably understood and relished the role of the enforcer better than anyone
Loved Odjick when he went bonkers, no shirt on against the Blues in a blowout of the Canucks

I used to feel really bad when Canucks were losing, but now, it might be good, to get a coaching change. The snipers need to practice hitting the inside corners of the net. our D is a mixed bag.

Speaking of not making sense what does that question mean?
I think what you’re asking is why would I lose confidence in Benning only a week into free agency? It’s because he lost Markstrom, Tanev, Stecher, and Toffoli and only added Holtby. The Schmidt trade has restored my faith in JB somewhat but I still wish he had found a way to keep Toffoli.
I have not been here that much, but still follow the Canucks. I don't think Benning lost Markstrom, he did not offer a long enough term, Benning was swayed by what he had with Demko. Getting Holtby was very lucky; Tanev was a similar decision, Benning wanted a shorter term and Tanev took the best offer.Stecher is sort of a sad case but i guess Hockey requirements can be brutal. What Benning can do is use his upcoming young players, and send Erikssen to Utica?

Congrats to the Canucks for bringing the best they had...well done, and I found out what an excellent talented goalie emerged in Demko.

Brock Nelson has always been a problem for the Canucks

you can't make diamonds without applying tremendous amounts of pressure
perfect case scenario if you want an opportunity for growth from our young guns
Jordan Peterson- a Canadian professor of psychology at the University of Toronto says "you see what you aim at", I am suggesting there is a psychology to winning, it may be worth looking at on a team basis.

Why bother let’s lose another 4 then win out
they now need to win 3 out of every 4 to make it
The Canucks could still win the Stanley Cup.

Question: any opinion on Defenceman Brogan Rafferty what is his possibility playing for the Canucks? on the NHL team

Gretzky was considered the GOAT. He was terrible as a coach. Barry Trotz (who IMO is the best coach in the game right now) never played a single NHL game. Their hockey playing careers do not define them as coaches.
So how do you pick a good coach? maybe looking at a coach's record, experience in the NHL, or maybe other hockey leagues. Maybe there should be scouting for coaches too.

Blind loyalty towards Green continues for some fans.
He's a nice guy, comes across as very personable.. The 31 thoughts interview was great, you want to like him. But being likeable doesn't = being a good coach. Green and Nolan Baumgartner are both new to coaching at this level and it shows. Neither of them have shown that they're some brilliant savant coaches at the minor level, they were quite average... Why do people think they'd be something amazing at the highest level with no experience? Theyre learning on the job, which would be fine for the rebuild.. But this teams window is now, and playoffs this year were/ still are a legitimate possibility. Proper experienced coaching would get them through. This late into the season however, I think we may be stuck seeing where this green train takes us.
Hopefully gallant is still available in the summer.
I agree with this assessment, Is being a Canuck's fan agreeing with everything coaching does? I don't believe coach Green will change his coaching style, so look forward to the same results. Markstrom's injury is a factor, not looking forward to another new season with coach Green.

Brutal...what a terrible 3 stretch. Good bye playoffs at this rate.
Look at the positives... no wretched feelings from losing the Stanley Cup, and tank nation on!, and maybe some major changes coming.

Green has his areas he needs to work on but no need to fire him yet.
Most likely the performance assessment will come at the end of this season.

You raise a valid point Joe. IMO our systems are wrong, and don’t get the best out of our players. Plus, Green’s philosophy is passive. And since I’m piling on, imo Green is too soft (or nice) to be a top NHL coach. Like Brian Burke said last week here on local radio, the players want to be coached hard. Babcock is exactly the type of coach our top young players deserve. He’d insist on everyone playing a certain (hard on and off pucks) way to play. He’d let Petey and Hughes go, and we’d see even more exiting play from them. He’d get Jake playing hard nosed. He’d sit any veteran who didn’t play the right way. We would see 10 soft stick swinging checks every shift. He would insist of a properly schemed forecheck, back pressure, which would allow our D men to step up. We’d see lots of neutral zone turnovers, and fast counter attacks. We’d see a team start every game with a passion to initiate, and not just relax, chase, and retaliate. Babcock would lead this young core to multiple Cups.
I wonder if Gerard Gallant would be a good coach, if a change of coaches is a possibility.

Don't tweak the lines
Start Demko
That is all
The Canucks are in a tough play to the finish, when you look at the teams they go up against in these last 18, if the Canucks loose this game, the playoffs are not happening for this team

Well i am looking forward to the Green excuses after the loss. "that's a good team over there, we did some good things this game". It takes talent to sit there and feel the burn.
I think losing is the way forward, we get a new coach and maybe GM.
