    IIHF needs to take a strong look at their women's officiating and how they end elimination games. The fact that a gold medal game is decided in a skill competition is appalling.

      It's the same for the men: after OT, it goes to a shootout.  That's just how the IIHF rules are.  And yes, it sucks

      i agree hundred per cent the game is ruined by the shoot out..if you look at the first use goal it should have not counted once the puck leaves your stick its a shot she missed it then shot at it after the puck  had already left her stick.

      Had the officiating been on point, they never would have gotten to overtime, let alone shootout. The sheer number of bad calls against Canada, and lack of against USA was appalling. Then all of a sudden the whistles go away in OT until the last two minutes?

      Poulin should have been called 2 minutes for illegal hit, she absolutely destroyed that woman in front of the net, Scott Stevens would be proud.
