Find an empty Lacrosse Box bring out the old plastic blades on your stick and practice all sorts of moves on your goalie friend ,between that baseball,touch football and swimming how could you not stay in shape.Summer fun.
Just getting on the ice a couple/few times a week makes a huge difference. I am a terrible hockey player and just skating with my buddies at college 2-4 times a week really helped me improve just basic skating techniques.
