  1. Axel Sandin Pellikka 11th David Reinbacher 20th Lukas Dragicevic 27th No many RHD in the early 1st round. None clear cut for the top 10 that I can see.
  2. I remember being younger and being passionate about seeing the next generation of players. I think it is a large factor in what keeps the league interesting but also what I would term a "boys club" this is not a rags to riches sport like soccer which provides at least an iota of opportunity. These players are vetted and groomed. Just think of all the wonderful players who never had a chance to show their potential. Perhaps Malcolm Gladwell has tainted my perception haha.
  3. Vancouver Canucks revenue 2022 | Statista This actually appears to be true, According to this 187M highest profits since 06.
  4. Hockey players have 10 good years, 20 - 30 they are all *&^*&^ young haha. 1.Is the player skilled enough 2.Will he fit with your team 3. What is his cap hit 4. Does he factor into your timeline (this should be the only credit to age yet it seems overvalued in the league, (perhaps pace and injuries are a factor for aging players?)
  5. I'd be happy to watch the Canucks compete hard and have a shot at the playoffs, really the odds of "winning the cup" are low for almost every team and there are better teams but it has to start with good hockey. It is that something special that makes a team come together for a run and this is something that is unquantifiable. There can only be one winner but damn there can be good hockey. Seeing the lack of compete the last few seasons has been hard for us all and trying to understand why our franchise has been unable to put together an entertaining team has been even more frustrating. I don't think we are the only team in the league dealing with this issue. Is it a league issue or franchise issue, so far as I can tell cap flexibility due to league parity/restrictions has hurt the Canucks along with other teams in successful markets. Time for a new commish ... just saying
  6. So considering the value of Hronek what would Bear yield, likely a 1st ...and I feel he's worth more to us than that.
  7. I think there are Character issues with Chychrun but i'm only speculating... I am curious how much higher the asking price for him would have been (probable a top 6 NHL player (Boeser) along with the 1st and 2nd? .... and no 4th coming back for sure...
  8. Stay at home right D... Myers?? I know he's not the best we already moved on Tanev so not sure what management expects from Myers other than his contract is large
  9. Slick and Savy GM work by Detroit you cannot argue they didn't get the most for the player. I think it's a hockey trade given the current market. A few points to consider: 1.Not pulling the trigger on Hronek likely means losing that player to another team 2. Not many RHD available in the first two rounds 3. We have other players to move for picks 4. Canucks fans don't like trades where there isn't a clear cut winner. Two savy GM's went head to head and Detroit timed it perfectly..
  10. I think the 2nd was a tough pill to swallow, IMO getting a third back would have lessened the sting (not sure did they have a 3rd to give?).
  11. I don't know about the "window for winning" argument in this trade. I don't see it... EP will be 29 and Hronek will be 30. Looks like a perfect window for a run within the next 5 years...
