  1. Lol it would be terrible. But being able to play 20 isn't a quality that you should have to say about an NHL D man. Every D man should be able to play 20. The question is whether it's a good or bad 20
  2. That applies to any player under contract lol. Hutton can play 20. MDZ can play 20. Stecher can play 20. Heck I can play 20. Doesn't mean it's a good 20.

  4. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild

Look at this teams defence and goaltending when healthy, at tell me honestly that we're a playoff contender. We have at most 2 top 4 D men if you count Edler. The rest are bottom paring guys. In net, Marky and Nilsson let in soft soft goals regularly. (Although last game Marky was sharp). So basically for us to contend for a playoff spot, Horvat and Boeser are gonna have to be so good offensively that it makes up for our lack of defense.
  5. Although I will say this. As of Jan 15, 2018: Boeser is 13th in the league in primary points per 60 minutes. Barzal is 40th in the league in primary points per 60 minutes. So Boeser actually has 2 more primary points than Barzal, in 3 less games. So Boeser is producing more quality points in less ice time. But this has nothing to do with Calder voting as the people who vote probably won't take any of this into account at all.
  6. Danton Heinen is also doing well. 31 pts in 38 games. 4th behind Boeser, Barzal and Keller. Less ice time as well. He could be a candidate if he keeps up the pace. Of course if Barzal continues to put up above a point per game, he will win easily.
  7. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild

He is important to this team in the sense that he is better than Chaput and Dowd. But if you look at his stats, he basically kills possession and scoring chances for any linemates he has.
  8. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild

We could squeak in if we get Dahlin and sign a Top 6 F. Which both are not likely.
  9. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild

The first part of your statement and the second part do not relate. Would a 6-8 game win streak put us back in the playoff race? Yeah. Should we count a healthy Canucks team out of contention? Yeah.
  10. [Report] Andrew Cogliano suspended 2 games

The ironman streak ending sucks, but the hit was a bad hit. 2 games seems fair.
  11. If NHL played in the Olympjcs

That's not what this is. Did you see Team Canada? It's a bunch of guys who are completely 100% pro-athletes, but just NHL castoffs. The majority of Team Canada is from the KHL. The second best league in the world. None of these guys are lower-tier or semi-pro athletes. They are still very much pro athletes, just not the best. Which means the Olympics this year will just be a lower quality of hockey, because the pro players are all the guys who couldn't crack the NHL. Olympics is supposed to showcase the best of the best. This year, it's basically a bunch of guys who aren't that good at hockey compared to the best of the best.
