  1. The goal by Mikheyev was fun to watch, one of the few speedy players on this team
  2. The problem with this team is consistency. They have shown that they are able to put in full 60mins of effort in some games (Against tougher opponents like Penguins, Avs, etc.)
  3. At this point, I don't even care if they go on a run and get a couple of winning streaks, because ultimately this is just not a cup contending team. That will just give the front office (and/or the owner) more false hope, and continue to let this team spin their wheels. At least a rebuild can give the fans something to dream about and look forward to.
  4. I think this management only saw the second half of last season, and made their evaluation based mainly on that. But they were not familiar with the team that was before Bruce came in, which is the true identity of this Canucks team. So they were expecting something close to that team they saw after they came in. To be fair, no one expected this kind of result from Demko though.
  5. Regarding Demko, I don't understand how can there be such a big difference in talent and skill for a player over a summer? It's like he completely forgot how to do the things he did last season. I don't play competitive sports, so genuinely asking.
  6. I think part of the plan going into this season was to rely on Demko's stable goal tending, and hoping the forwards can out-score the opponent. But no one expected Demko to be THIS bad.
  7. They need to score at least 5 goals in a game to have a chance to win lol
  8. Sounds like an anxiety problem? Can't get up and perform at the most important time...
  9. I think the "Bruce bump" last season, same as the bubble playoff run, gave the FO a false image that the team is competitive. Especially for a new FO that just came in and don't know much about the team and players, that second half of the season was all they had to evaluate on. Which lead them to think that the team is actually not that bad, and doubled down on the current roster instead of blowing it up. But the start of this season shows that the team under Travis last season is the true identity of this team, without the Bruce bump or godly Demko to mask the problems. So these past several "miracle runs" are actually hurting the team building in the long run.
  10. Kuzmenko is probably regretting not joining the Oilers to play with McDavid right now
  11. I feel the Canucks can't really play a more structured game, and is having difficulty setting up and sustaining pressure in the opponent's end. They are only relying on individual effort and talents, and many goals are created "on the fly" (matches the team's overall philosophy though)
