  1. 1.Hughes 2. Kakko 3. Turcotte 4. Cozens 5. Byram 6. Dach 7. Zegras 8. Broberg 9. Boldy 10. Newhook Heard Chicago is looking for a centre, Colorado desperately needs scoring. LA sprints to the stage to select Byram, Oilers have been linked to Broberg. That's what I think could happen but it's anyone's guess.
  2. Of course we are having fun! I appreciate the enthusiasm you bring here and enjoy reading your posts. I'll be the first to agree with you on Boesers skating. I've been saying for a while now that he isn't a great skater. In my opinion, that's the biggest obstacle holding him back from reaching that next tier. He has slow excelleration and average top speed. But let's be fair to Brock. It can take a young player a bit to adjust to the NHL speed. After suffering his back injury in his rookie year, he didn't have an offseason to work on his weaknesses. His agent (name is escaping me right now) was on SN650 a month or so back and had said that Brock has identified that skating was an issue for him and had hired a skating coach to work on exactly that. I'm excited to see what a healthy Boeser can do after a healthy off season full of training. I think it would shortsighted to trade him now. You are correct in the sense that he relies on his centerman to do the bulk of the work. Which isn't always a bad thing. I think that's why he works so well with Pettersson. Petey drives the play and likes to carry the puck, while Boeser is good at putting himself in the right areas to get a shot off. He's a great triggerman. I would way rather keep Boeser, add in the players you mentioned as UFA's and forget adding the picks. Cheers
  3. I think Montreal would rather have a more substantial piece rather than all these spare parts. Also, every single roster player we're sending them is an RFA. Would Bergevin really want to deal with that?
  4. No, jan it isn't. Read my previous post. Also we don't get Dzingel out of this. He's a UFA, you can't factor him into the trade.
  5. Okay so let me get this straight.. Out: Boeser, Baertschi, DiPietro, additional asset In: 2019 8thOA, 2019 12thOA, 2020nd We are trading away Boeser - an NHL All-Star MVP, Calder finalist, a player who put up 0.88/0.81 PPG in his first two seasons ALONG with DiPietro, one of the games consistently top rated goalie prospects for a couple lottery tickets we can only hope pan out nearly as good. Not to mention a serviceable 2nd line NHL player and whatever additional asset. We know what we have in Boeser. Can you for sure say Boldy/Krebs/Dach/Soderstom/Seider are an upgrade? There isn't even a consensus pick from 4th-12th. The only way I would do a trade like this, if it were for a top 2 pick. The closest we could get to a sure thing. There's just way too much risk here for really no reason.
  6. I wouldn't mind Zucker. I feel like he could be a good fit here. I just worry about what we would have to give up. The 10th and Boeser shouldn't not, and hopefully not being considered.
  7. Don't need to double down here. Your statement was wrong.
  8. I could see Broberg going 15th-20th. He just looks too raw in my opinion.
  9. So you'd rather make a move to (potentially) get into a wild card spot NOW, then build through the draft and add a very important piece to significantly improve our odds at being a contender for years to come. Stop being so shortsighted here. We all want playoff hockey back, but this isn't the chip we need to use to make this happen.
  10. Looks like we've lost then won a lottery pick two years in a row then.
  11. Wow someone is sensitive. I'll put it in a way that won't hurt your feelings this time. Your value is way off. Edmonton isn't so urgent to dump Lucic that they would serve up the 8th and 38th pick on a nice silver platter. The 8th pick is absolutely massive for the Oilers. McDavid and Draisaitl are in desperate need of some quality line mates and Edmonton is in prime position to add a highly skilled forward for their core. It makes ZERO sense for them to trade those picks for an aging, injury prone centre. McDavid is 22 and Drai is 23. How does 30 year old Brandon Sutter work long term for the Oilers? If you were the Canucks, would you trade Eriksson, 10thOA and 40thOA for Phillip Danault? Of course not.
  12. GM's don't seem to value 1st round picks in whatever world you're living in.
  13. Yeah with the 4th overall, they'd probably have to wait a year at most. Colorado is going to be dangerous.
  14. I think Colorado would just keep Makar and draft a forward if they're that desperate.
  15. Do you want the Canucks to trade Loui Eriksson and the 10th pick to Tampa for their 1st round pick?
  16. I'd like to believe in this Willie gif, he is coaching LA vs the Canucks. Kovalchuk has just scored in 2nd of the game. Willie is pissed he didn't bench him sooner. Back on topic, at this point I don't know why they haven't put sensors in the puck, in the boards along the blueline, along the ice at the blue line and goal line. As well as in the posts. As well as several HD cameras over top of the blue lines and in the boards. The NHL released the "definitive" photos of the offside goal, they looked like they were taken from a highway camera.
  17. You guys really take this Russian brotherhood thing too far. I doubt selecting a Russian will punch Tryamkin's ticket home. Unless we draft his wife.
  18. No chance we take on Lucic for one simple reason no one ever seems to mention. Lucic has a NMC, which means come Seattle expansion, he MUST be protected. Do you guys really want to be forced into protected Lucic? Along with Pettersson, Horvat, Boeser, Virtanen, Gaudette and then leaving Leivo, Pearson, Rousell, Baertschi available? Obviously the roster will change to some degree by then, but by no means should we handicap ourselves into protecting a $7m slug.
  19. I was wondering the same. I don't get all the hate for Aquilini. I wouldn't even say our ownership is bad. It could be far, far worse.
  20. I wouldn't say that. He's a big lanky kid who looks awkward on his skates. I wouldn't call him a smooth or silky skater. He has decent speed, no denying that. Just looks like a giraffe on skates.
  21. Even if Boldy and Caulfield are there I still have a feeling we'll select Soderstom. Not that that's a bad thing. I just have the feeling that's who we're walking away with.
  22. Trade him for ECHL all star Ty Ronning? Hard pass.
