So far everyone seems to be okay with Hughes taking another year in college, myself included. Sure it would be nice to see our shiny new toy, but I really think it's best for him. I expect the backlash from the expected bone heads anytime now, surely they're almost done sleeping off last nights no no juice.

Because Tampa has older established players to rely on their offence. We don't have that. We have young and somewhat unproven players to rely on our offence. We can't just roll 4 lines of inexperienced players. I honestly don't understand what is so hard to grasp here. Seems like every other user here can understand that but you can't.

I don't really get how they could be 'close'? Aren't the Canucks just going to hand him max everything? Is there any negotiating? I thought it just came down to whether or not Hughes wants to turn pro.

Rick Dhaliwal on 650 this morning said Hughes is expected to make a decision later on this week if he turning pro. If he decides to turn pro, do you think there will be some sort of gentlemens agreement that he sticks with the Canucks? I couldn't imagine him wanting to play in the AHL over returning the college.

I never thought he had much of a chance either. DeBrincat is roughly the same size, but with more skill. If he can succeed in the NHL, no reason Palmu can't. His stature shouldn't be used as an excuse.

Gaunce has 114GP and 12 points. I don't know what you guys consider a "gamer". He doesn't score and he isn't physical. Wow, he can kill penalties. So can 90% of the players on our roster.
