High end skill is far more important than size and brawn. People like to point out the toughness and gritty play that was featured on recent cup winning teams but really the one common denominator is just an overall dominant team regardless of size. We might have been most successful when we had guys like Torres and Lapierre but does anyone actually believe that was the reason for such a sustained run of success and dominance? Maybe the Canucks got pushed around a lot last season, but getting pushed around is the least of their worries. Teams like the Oilers, Flames, and Leafs show just how far removed the Canucks are from the talent level of these teams.

Was on pace for 15 goals over 82 games while averaging 12 minutes a game with crappy linemates. If he gets an opportunity he could easily score 20 goals. Would like to see him improve his skating and defensive game too.
