  1. All I can say is I'm glad the Canucks didn't sign Danault or Hyman today. Would not be happy with either of those deals.
  2. I'm guessing we are seeing a ton of AHL signings because last year we shared the Comets with St Louis. Now we need to fill out the second half of the roster.
  3. I think Klimovich will be a winger, so I would assume Petan could be a great playmaking C for Klimovich.
  4. Looks like Schenn will play every Calgary game and Poolman will play the rest.
  5. Nice to get him back. Really had a good stint in the NHL last year before injury. Likely starts in Abby but would be a great call-up.
  6. OEL Myers Hughes Hamonic Joulevi Poolman Rathbone Schenn That would be my guess overall. Top two pairings fairly interchangeable for icetime.
  7. In an ideal world Poolman is the 3rd pairing RD and Schenn is the 4th for injuries, different looks etc. Okay, maybe not ideal world, but in our actual world.
  8. Great signing and a great contract. JB is handing out great contracts today. Hamonic is a great stabilizer for our D-core.
  9. I have a feeling that this guy will be a key player for us in a couple years. I think his ability exceeds his draft position from what the scouting reports say. I think we got him where we did because of lack of visibility before the World Juniors. Great to get him to Abby, and great to have the team in Abby and get the positive influences from the big club.
  10. Well, that will be quite the deal. NJ starting to turn the corner it appears. I wonder if they would consider moving PK while retaining half his salary?
  11. Bringing in Halak, Sutter and Schenn all at 1-1.5M is exactly what we need. The right price for veteran depth.
  12. Fantastic deal. Zero risk and if he's healthy it's a steal. Good leadership as our 4C.
  13. Haha, that is hilarious. David Clarkson all over again. This "may" be okay for a couple years and then an albatross.
  14. I had no idea he played the right side as a lefty. That actually changes things a bit as he would be a great add. If Chicago has no cap maybe we throw some picks for Zadorov and Nylander’s rights: Hoglander Pettersson Boeser Nylander Miller Garland Pearson Horvat Podkolzin Motte Dickinson MacEwen Ekman-Larsson Myers Hughes Zadorov Joulevi Schenn Either way things are shaping up better than last year.
  15. I’m pretty sure OEL will be a major improvement but the rest does come from internal improvement of Hughes, Joulevi, Rathbone and maybe Bowey. Overall it’s not a major jump in improvement but I think it’s a better mix overall.
  16. This just gives us the flexibility to re-sign Petey and Quinn, sign Schenn and give Hamonic a proper offer. Once that is done D is set: Ekman-Larsson Myers Hughes Hamonic Joulevi Schenn Rathbone Bowey
  17. To be honest, I'm a fan. He is not a very engaging on TV, but I always like this take on things.
  18. Has there been any news on Bowey recently? I have to think that there is likely some plan beyond him just being expansion requirements fodder. In an ideal scenario it would be great to have Schenn and Bowey alternate RD 3rd pair depending on whether we need more of a rugged stay at home D vs 2 way D with a bit more offense. Either way, I think it would be good to see if Bowey has the potential to stick in the lineup a bit more.
  19. Raanta or Halak would be pretty solid backups if we can get them.
  20. Here is my current prediction: Hoglander - Petey - Boeser Miller - Horvat - Garland Pearson - Dickenson - Podkolzin Motte - MacEwen - Lockwood Extras: Gadjovich Hughes - Hamonic Ekman Larsson - Myers Juolevi - Schenn Extras: Rathbone, Bowey Demko Halak
  21. Could be a good fit as a 7th in Seattle or something where there is an opportunity with lower team expectations. Not a fit for us as we are clearly transitioning into a more competitive window (Hopefully)
  22. For free? Find it pretty funny that Edm can't give up something to outbid Chicago. For most teams I would think this means they have another plan, but in Edmonton's case, they likely just messed it up.
  23. Schenn would be a good vet and feel like he fits in with the group well. If he is paid to play third line mins and occasionally moves up the lineup this is a major win. Does anybody know how Schenn went from top 4 D to depth D? Was it just the speed of the game since his days in TO?
