  1. Yeo will convert to taping pucks for milestones before being fired. Gonchar will put Tryamkin in front of the net on the PP. Good times ahead!
  2. Henrik for Canucks PP coach and Daniel for Abby PP coach
  3. This is a great summary and helps confirm some aspects of players moving along in their progression or stagnating. Makes me start to think about the Canucks next year and who would be part of the equation. Here are my thoughts based on how things are going: -Wolanin and Hirose should be battling out the 3LD position for next year. Both make the club but playing time is based on who is performing best. -Woo could make the team as a 6/7/8 D and maybe along with Schenn play the defensive RD aspect of the third pair and rotate in and out together. There will be competition with Johansson coming in too. -Rathbone doesn't appear to progress quite to the consistent level we want him too, but may have value still. I still believe we pair him with Myers in a trade for FCs -Hogz is ready for the NHL again and should be someone like Joshua (Different player styles) that can play up and down the lineup as needed. -Raty is a very strong prospect for us but needs another full year in the AHL as the 1C in Abby -Sasson will be 23 for the next season and I think he starts as our 4C with Aman moving to 3C. Raty competes the following year for a 2C/3C spot -Martin had his day and I think even with this push won't be back. NHL performance was not fully his fault, but I think the ship has sailed. I think we sign a vet or move Silovs into the rotation as backup as he's close to ready.
  4. Looks like a nice well thought out proposal that meets the needs of the team. I like the re-signings and the trade for Peeke. In my opinion I would make a few modifications with the same goals in mind: -I think as was mentioned we should focus on getting a 3C through FA. We have some insulation with Raty maybe being ready but he likely needs another year in the A. -I think Myers to Arizona is great, but I'm guessing that a sweetener may be needed even with the cap vs salary benefit for them. I would just add Rathbone to Myers to make Myers go away -I would have Hoglander replace Acciari in your scenario as a 3/4 W to start with the ability to move up. I think we need the pace and flexibility of Hoglander in our lineup. -I would hopefully sign Bear for closer to 2M x 2 and sign Tryamkin for 2-2.5M x 3 as he can play RD and LD and can potentially play with Hughes (1st pair) to Bear (2/3rd pair) depending on performance/matchups/situations.
  5. Probably makes sense to give him proper mins. Abby is getting pretty full.
  6. Great to have him signed as well. Basically our LD is set for years: NHL Next Year Hughes OEL Likely NHL Next Year Hirose Rathbone Likely AHL Next Year Wolanin Brisebois Kudryavtsev Pettersson Two obvious NHLers and 3-4 guys competing for the final LD spot (Edge to Hirose and Rathbone) while the others fill the AHL squad.
  7. If we remove Matthew Wood and Ryan Leonard and add ASP I would be happy with anybody on the list for our pick. Players like MW scare me because playing at their size against players still growing gives them an advantage. Once they start competing against AHL or NHL players that advantage is removed and they aren't the impact players they once were. Obviously an over generalization and it also can give them a higher NHL floor as a bottom 6 guy, but I would go mostly for skill (With compete) over just average results and size.
  8. Here are my top 13 based on what our needs are. Would be nice if we don’t drop but I highly suspect we drop to 12….because…you know….it’s what we do: 1. Bedard 2. Fantilli 3. Carlsson 4. Michkov 5. Smith 6. Reinbacher 7. Dvorsky 8. Sale 9. Benson 10. Moore 11. Sandin Pellikka 12. Danielson 13. Yager
  9. Could be interesting but I have a strong feeling we could see: Hirose-Hronek OEL-Johansson
  10. Flames Playoff Roster: Ehlers McDavid Tarasenko Niederreiter Horvat Perry Kotkaniemi Studenic Lindholm Larsson Zboril Lundmark Quick
  11. Hopefully he clears as I think he is nearly an ideal 6/7 RD on our roster next year. Have a little bit of a concern that some playoff team with some injuries could snag him as he plays a playoff style game and is a RD who are always in demand.
  12. Hirose has been a very good find for our group as he brings good skating, strong hockey IQ, and he has some swagger which is also a good thing as it shows the confidence he has to play at this level. I agree that he may very well find himself at the NHL level next year from what he has shown and a pairing with Hronek may be a really nice fit. He adds to Hughes, Hronek and even OEL from a puck moving and possession perspective, so we may need to complement that with some snarl. If we remove Gavrikov from the equation since he is likely to be overpaid (He still may be a good option based on our needs) and go with some lower cost options in Tryamkin (To play RD mostly) and Schenn we add some protection to the primary puck movers. I would be pretty happy with the following lineup (Including moving out Myers) to start the year with a lot of depth in Abbotsford as we deal with injuries: Hughes Tryamkin Hirose Hronek OEL Schenn Gives us pretty good balance overall and a lot of speed from the backend with the exception of Schenn. If Tryamkin or Hirose don't meet expectations, then we have OEL, Schenn and other depth D (McWard, Juulsen, Brisebois, Burroughs, Wolanin, Woo etc) that can move up the lineup as needed. Gives us some lower cost contracts to balance out OEL with Petey 2.0 ready to take over from him (OEL) once his contract expires or is movable in 3-4 years.
  13. I’d probably have ASP around 10 but for me it would be a drop off in excitement as I don’t think he’s a long term need and I struggle to believe many can even be Hughes lite. Hughes is a unique talent for sure. ASP is on that cusp like Moore and Cristall in my mind.
  14. That's a pretty good list, but I think there is a drop off for me on excitement past the following 9: 1. Bedard 2. Fantilli 3. Carlsson 4. Michkov 5. Smith 6. Reinbacher 7. Dvorsky 8. Sale 9. Benson We need to keep building top 4 RD (Reinbacher) and top 6 C (Smith, Dvorsky), but high ceiling wingers would be the exception to the rule. I think this is my cutoff where I would be happy with our pick down to just meh... Obviously anybody can surprise, but I think this is the 9 that move the needle.
  15. We now have solid organization depth on D which is wonderful, but I'm curious at what point we consider it full between the NHL and AHL level from a contract and position perspective. Can we even really add to the group at a certain point? As an example, if we sign Gavrikov, Tryamkin, re-sign Bear and if we release Burroughs, Dermott and trade Myers we would have the following depth between the NHL and AHL: Hughes Tryamkin Gavrikov Hronek OEL Bear Rathbone Juulsen Hirose Johansen Wolanin Woo Brisebois McWard Kundryavtsev Keeper Now, don't get too bent out of shape on the names because we could just keep Myers, Burroughs, Dermott or sign someone different (Rather than sign Gavrikov and Tree), but the numbers are roughly the same. Injuries can derail the depth chart as well, but it does appear that we are pretty full from an organizational perspective on D. If we sign any more NCAA and European free agents there may not be a solid opportunity to play anymore.
  16. He is exactly what we need now. We have secured a lot of depth on D and may even add to that at the draft. We are missing a big defensive D in his prime and Tryamkin is exactly that. Swift skating, huge D that can play both sides and move the puck effectively. If we can move Boeser and Myers and let Dermott walk we have room to sign Gavrikov and Tryamkin with lots of cap left (Not even including staying the course with OEL. Potential starting D next year: Hughes Tryamkin Gavrikov Hronek OEL Bear How is that not a D that moves the needle in a major way vs what we have today.
  17. I was just about to post this until I saw that you did. This is my exact top ten (In order) from a Nucks perspective.
  18. I think this is fine as we've already added more than enough depth. If Myers gets moved, Burroughs/Dermott walk and Poolman stays on IR forever, we have the following D depth without even adding: LD Depth Chart Hughes OEL Wolanin Hirose Brisebois Rathbone RD Depth Chart Hronek Bear Johansson Juulsen If we feel that the bolded players are certified NHLers and the others are all competing for the bottom pairings and depth we have a lot of competition already for those bottom spots. I'm curious to see if they just make it an open battle for spots with the guys that having proven they may be ready, or if they secure a 1 more defensive D. Looking at our overall depth chart, it still looks like a defensive RD in the top 4 would be the right complement. Schenn or Tryamkin could be easy lower cost fill ins to meet the need, but if we add too many D, we won't give the younger guys a fair chance. Gavrikov is the right type of D for us, but that LD side is very very full already.
  19. Maybe we can snag both for a combined 3M vs Gavrikov at 5M. Organizational D is starting to look pretty good.
  20. Stylistically he is almost exactly the same. If he can do that with the NHL level pressure we may have struck gold. He looks like he’s got the quickness but it’s just a matter if he can do it when the pace steps up. Pretty exciting!
  21. I get the feeling Miller has solidified himself with this group however if Carolina bows out in round 1, my previously proposed Kotkaniemi, Morrow, 1st for Miller may still work nicely as the difference in cap allows us to sign Gavrikov. Could end up being something like keeping Miller or having Gavrikov, Kotkaniemi, Morrow and Dragicevic. Still intriguing.
  22. Seems like a much younger Lazar replacement. 4C with the potential to solidify our 3C going forward. These guys seem to be at the same potential as most 2nd round picks but are nearly NHL ready.
  23. I guess I could have explained further. I think a legit defensive RD would be ideal with Hughes but Juulsen, Schenn types can meet the need in the short term. Livingston (unlikely now) and Reinbacher (possible through draft but not NHL ready) would be good options too but there is nothing obvious there. Outside of the Hughes pairing the other element give us great puck moving and strong size/defensive D without compromising speed which is key. I think Tryamkin meets a need for our team as part of the overall solution. Not sure he’s Hughes partner type level but it’s possible he does spot duty there (on his offside).
