2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
Old school nuck replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Yep Gillis didn't replenish the stock he just traded away futures and plugged holes the best he could but failed for the most part at drafting with what picks we had left . We made a run almost made it and damn it was good at the time. -

Dont see how trading tanev isnt gonna gut our team since we only have one top 4 rhd and the team collapses without him. We have no replacement for him right now and jb was adamant about getting a dman back if tanev was traded when asked by the media. We have no one to replace sutter and no gaudette isnt ready yet as evidenced by his current team right now. Part of building a team is maintaining its assets and trading players you have no replacement for is no that. I would like all our vets to be traded when our youth are good enough to take their jobs but until then jb like any rational gm will maintain his assets. -

I remember when we had a young Kesler and twins with no depth and were a bubble team . We added a Carter or Burrows to complete the line and drafted Raymond in the 2nd round traded for booth , manny ,torres and laperierre. It took some years and a lot of futures to build our cup contender. I would like to get another top ten talent this year but if the team starts to rise on the backs of their budding stars then you have to let it ride. Part of building a team is maintaining your current assets. If we trade Tanev then right away we need anothrr Tanev type player same with sutter. I expect jb will hang onto his assets and deal them when they're on their last legs like hanson and burrows. -

Don't think Jim is gonna go full retard with aquamans team as that would get him fired because to gut the team means years in the basement. I expect they'll keep what is working and add on. We have a franchise player perhaps even generational and you dont tear down your team when you get one. You build around them -
Right, good catch. Ty

And playing lw to Madden's more complete game at centre perhaps. Jack is 17 and a young future draftee. Quinn looks to be on rd perhaps that's an option next year to ease the ld logjam.

That is true but I felt he was looking fatigued and was in a goal slump just prior to that door. He stated at the beginning of this year he had worked hard on his conditioning to withstand the rigors of a full nhl season. So I guess he knew he hit the wall and was fatigued. Rookies often make the mistake thinking their highly conditioned enough and hit that wall. When Salo said that Joulevi needed to be in better shape he didn't mean hes in bad shape just that most rookies underestimate the conditioning you need to avoid hitting that fatigue wall. Boeser and Hutton thought they had worked hard enough on their conditioning last year but were wrong . This year they know and have started this year in top professionally condition. Tram in my estimation has failed to take conditioning serious enough and clearly labors on the ice and that is the root of all his problems.

Everyone needs to be in yop shape to withstand the rigors of a 82 game season. Brock hit the wall after 50 or so games last year because of fatigue. I don't see how it can be claimed if your a big guy you dont need to be in proper shape. If you're not in top condition you hit the fatigue wall simple as that.

Sometimes adversity brings out the best in us if your willing to learn the lessons. Obviously Ottawa informed Chara they wanted him in better shape and he refused to listen so was traded and then woke up to the fact that if he didnt get in and maintain proper conditioning his career was moving towards nhl bust . Some players will respond after being benched some won't. Hutton has responded positively to his benching last year and realized if he didn't get into nhl shape his nhl was moving towards bust. Yo date Tram has not responded positively to being benched in the khl either. Does he respond positively next year by coming into the new sea3don in top shape . Maybe but maybe not as he's been dragging his lazy ass up and down the ice this khl season so far.

Tryamkins biggest ptoblem was always his conditioning or lack of it. Right from the start it was the problem as evidenced by him bent over sucking air after every stoppage in play. Getting into nhl professional shape was not big on his priority list then and now as he drags his out of shape ass up and down the khl ice. His conditioning was like Huttons last year not up to par and they wanted him to be like the hutton this year in top shape and the difference shows in huttons play. I question trams commitment and willingness to be a professionsl when it comes to being in top shape.

That a real nasty post saying our prospect pool is at the bottom when we all know there are a lot of teams with very few prospects compared to us , if you think so lowly of our prospects why don't you change your name and find another team to cheer for. -
Hughes and Joulevi with hutton and Edler on the left with Tanev stetcher guds and DP on the right. I dont see either getting traded unless we somehow find an upgrade.

Yes either way would be good , if he's ready then I guess he's ready but his play at development camp should give a good indication of where he's at.
