I'm with you, it's still challenging for me to watch some of Linkin Park's old live shows. The guy's pain made his music so beautiful and impactful, and it's such a shame it got to be too much for him bear. Incredible musician though.

Baertschi. He and Bo have played well together in the past, and like someone else suggested elsewhere on CDC, on a line with Pearson and Bo he may be able to do slightly less board work and be free to drift into open ice closer to the slot a little more often. However, he's still capable of being a physical player, the caveat of injuries aside, like his other two linemates, making it a good two way line.

Even Young Stars is going be excellent, I just can't wait for any sort of Canucks hockey. Almost there ladies and gents! There is so much to be excited for this season.

@Type R Effing terrible, in my opinion. Way too much. Hughes looks special and may accomplish a significant portion (not all) of what Karlsson could, and for ten years longer.

@luckylager Our fifth or sixth game in mid/late October, a 3-0 win vs Ottawa, I believe. I was shocked! 

I think the key things are continuation and consistency. He looked so dominant some games and shifts, so for me it'll be a successful first half if he can consistently push the pace of play, get his hits, and be a quality two-way player (as opposed to focusing purely on D responsiblity as he has at times over the past two seasons). 20 goals would be awesome, and is completely attainable, but 15-20-35 would be fine for me as long as he is constantly getting better.

I also think he fits better on one of the more defensive lines we're appearing to have (Roussel-Sutter-Virtanen, for example) compared to the guys I mentioned in the OP. However, Bear-EP-Jake looks sexy and dangerous, plus everyone in the organization seems to understand the kids are going to be playing offensive hockey, so that's a possibility as well!

Happens every two years or so like clockwork... This one is in the Richmond Nature Park area, last year it was Burns Bog... Tonight I will seek the beach and the ocean breeze to avoid this nastiness.

Great target Joe, I tentatively agree. However I've never watched him play a game, only highlights. How's his defense? He seems offensively talented and a superb skater. Sutter would have to be packaged up very prettily to get Montour in a trade though; lots of adding on our side

In the latter scenario, which is also my preferred, I expect Boeser, Horvat, Pettersson, Gaudette, etc. to get tons of offensive opportunity and develop strongly. We will again be in a position to sell some vets at the deadline, including MDZ and possibly (unlikely) Edler, leaving the possibility of Juolevi getting 20 games at the end of the year. If our young core was to carry the team into a playoff position, who could possibly complain?

@J-23 Likely wing to begin, but both Benning and Green have said that he'll move to centre "when he's ready". They've been open and said that could be after training camp, could be in November, could be next year. 

Hey, not a bad idea, I just think he's one of those guys (like Ekblad, Seth Jones, Theodore, H. Lindholm) that is still young and too talented to be traded for anything less than a king's ransom. Doesn't mean we can't fantasize, particularly when we have a (incredibly raw and thoroughly reduced experience-wise) similar player currently biding his time in Russia that may be that sort of defenceman for us in the future

The plan, as stated by management multiple times, is for Elias to be a centre. Benning and Linden have said he'll start wing next year, assuming he makes the team, and it's basically up to him as to when he moves to the middle. Could be three months, a year, two years, but that's where the Canucks see him long-term.

Pretty sure the Rangers were verrrrry high on Andersson at the draft last year, since he was viewed as an off-the-board pick, and there's no reason they would have changed their mind this year. That conversation likely starts with our first this year; 7th overall for 7th overall, but I don't see why NYR would do that straight up after a year of development.

In fantasy, I traded for him, Josh Bailey and Brandon Montour, giving away Stastny, Pacioretty, and Giordano.
