  1. Well, I've been a fierce critic of Jim in the past, still don't have much faith in him. BUT, I do like this trade. The team had to get a second line scorer. Those aren't cheap. I think if Miller is moved at the deadline, the return might even been bigger for TB. For the Canucks, we now have a functional second line. If, big if, Ferland signs as well, that will give us two respectable forward lines, something this team hasn't had since Kesler was around. Still lots of work to do on defence, but, if Myers signs and Jimbo swings another trade, with us being set in goal, for the first time, I'm thinking playoffs aren't out of the real of possibilities.
  2. I feel like I’m arguing with Bill Clinton. I linked to an article that stated a deal between Goldy and CKSA was likely, saying “ Report suggesting Goldy is close to bolting.” You first misquoted me, then pretended you didn’t, then admitted you did, then tried to say that the report said nothing of the sort because Larionov said it wasn’t true, and now say it’s just speculation. That’s some pretty thick fog you’re dealing with. Ill say say it again, I linked to a post you didn’t like, you mischaracterized my words, were called out, and have been back pedaling since.
  3. All right Einstein, what do you think, a deal with Moscow is likely, means? Again, you appear to have the reading comprehension skills of a 4th grader. My quote "Report suggesting he is close to bolting" R-E-P-O-R-T. Not me. The report. One more time. Not me, the report. Got it yet, genius? Now, what does the report say? A deal with Moscow CKSA is even likely. How on earth do you think that the report is saying he isn't close to leaving? AGAIN, report says. One more time because you are so dim: A deal with Moscow CKSA is even likely. Do I have to post it a third time before you get it into your pea brain? You clearly don't appreciate people posting links you don't like, so you twist their words (misquote deliberately) to fit your ideas. Grow up and learn to read.
  4. Thank you for admitting your false quotation. Now, go back and look at what I wrote. "A report suggesting that he is close to bolting." What does the report say? He is planning on re-signing in Vancouver? No, it says a deal is likely. Sorry if your sensibilities were offended that I linked to a report you didn't like.
  5. Where did I say he was interested? Which you put in quotations. Not my words. Don't put fake words in my mouth.
  6. The report indeed does not say he is "interested in bolting". Neither did I use the word "interested". Don't fake quote me in the future. Here's what the report says: The latter certainly appears to be an option as Sport-Express’ Igor Eronko reports (Twitter link) that CSKA Moscow of the KHL has interest in Goldobin, even suggesting that a deal with the team is likely.
  7. If you compare Lind to other Canuck second rounders or late firsts, (Antoski, Rob Murphy, Polasek, Rick Girard, Robb Gordon, Nathan Smith, Schroeder, Jensen) 1st year in the AHL, his development is not looking promising. I mean, he has very long odds to beat of becoming a productive NHLer. Can't give up on the kid after one year, but not looking good.
  8. Report suggesting he is close to bolting to Russia: https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/canucks_nikolay_goldobin_linked_to_cska_moscow/s1_14825_28966331
  9. Whatever one thinks of the situation in South Africa, religion, plays little to no role.
  10. Man, Gaudreau whines a lot. He shakes his head at the refs constantly, stretches out his arms yells at them, it seems, anytime anyone makes contact with him. Just comes across as extremely entitled. Not a good look for the the face of the organization.
  11. Ugghhhh, I really want to come to this thread and see what that the latest is with Trymakin, but it's invariably crap like this, teachers, bullies, not showing movies during class and Virtanen. Why Try, WHY?
  12. Getting scratched regularly in the NHL and getting scratched regularly in the AHL in your first pro-season, I would argue, is a big difference. Gaudette was close to a ppg in Utica this year.
  13. I'm not aware of many players who've had as awful of a first pro-season as Lind, and gone on to be NHLer's. Maybe somebody can enlighten me, but I think the list must be a small one.
  14. Well, there has been a lot heat directed toward the Comets this year. The prospect who was finding the most consistent success was shipped out for a second tier prospect, another packed up mid-season and went back home to Europe, and prospects like Lind and Gadjovich have either been scratched or playing in the bottom of the line-up. I know this is a fan site, criticism is not particularly welcome here, but development has not gone well in Utica this year. Johnson and Cull need to go.
  15. Not necessarily. There is precedence of some high profile, high paid veterans being demoted and refusing to retire. Thinking specifically of Redden, Commodore, Souray. Say what you want, but any way you slice it, 3 million a year is still a huge chunk of cheese to walk away from.
  16. The team has clearly made a point of showing their displeasure with Loui in the past couple of weeks. Benning publicly called him a disappointment and said that his role on the team would be re-evaluated in the off-season, coupled with Green's scratch the other night. Where they go from here, who know? I suppose they could threaten to bury him in the minors? Wouldn't be a great look for the organization, coupled with Gagner and Schaller's treatment (not wrong), but really, this guy is a complete anchor on the team right now, both in production and as an example for the young players. 3 years in, it's pretty clear Loui, isn't going to score more than 10-15 goals a season.
  17. Won't fault Benning on the Granlund trade, that was a reclamation project swap, and we got the better one. But, as popular as Sven has been in Vancouver, he hasn't been able to stay healthy. The Flames used that pick on Rasmus Andersson, would look pretty darn good on our blue line right now.
  18. The reality is, if next season plays out anything in the manner like this one, standings wise, ol'trader Jim is gone faster than a prom date's dress. In fact, I would expect the rumblings to start growing in volume as the season winds down and into the off-season.
  19. This trade reminds of the Jeff Brown trade in '95. Hated it, was unfathomable at the time and just tried to chalk it up as a loss and move on.
  20. I'm a little skeptical he gets offered a contract. This is his third season of college hockey, comparing his numbers to Motte's third season. Motte had 56 points in 38 games, Lockwood isn't even getting a ppg right now. Maybe he has a chance to be a decent AHLer?
  21. Seems like the class this year is a little weaker than last. Good top end talent, but don't think 3-10 is as strong this year. Regardless, it's looking like we've got a real chance of landing in the top 5. The more things change with Benning and Aquilini, the more......
  22. Can't say I really care all that much about this team when the top prospect in the line up is Lukas Jasek.
