Does this guy bring anything to the table?

    Like really, one thing

If we traded him for a Mars bar, whoever gave us the Mars bar would be getting ripped off

HA HA.... maybe a snickers bar . Bust trade him , lazy floater,  no IQ. Would we miss him? Nope

If TO, Ottawa, NYR, Colorado, Montreal can all rebuild or retool in less than 3 years then the Canucks could do better IF they ACT.

Whoa  I dont see any cups in that group , D is what they need and drafting D has been the problem . Hughes needs a very good dman paired with him. Juolevi may turn out  Edler is serviceable and so is Myers, Schmidt is a work in progress. Hamonic is a disaster no wonder the Flames would not resign him. JB could have signed two or three better D. This is all on JB.

And what do you suggest we traded for either player?

One of our top studs would be a start... Horvat or Pettersson.

Do you want a trade involving either player? To bring in either Laine or Dubois who have shown such arrogance early in their careers?

Miller and Juolevi maybe. As far as Arrogance Just look at the Coaches . Thats where the arrogance comes in

I am surprised Jake Virtanen doesn't ask for a trade... I am surprised he has any confidence only playing 9 mins again least of all the forwards..

I like Virtanen but he should get a new start..I still say he will be a  19--25 goals -- 48 points with the right team..

This team has a better defence with Schmidt and Hamonic...

I am a positive guy but what I seen tonight has me wondering??

The first period was great...The 2nd period and 3rd period omg there was no excitement in the game..Only game 4 but they don't play with energy like last year and scoring...Its early but every game is big in your own division...

Montreal I love there new big defence, they added some decent players, look at there toughness now...

Vancouver missing that toughness, watch Montreal against us for next 3 games..

To fix Jake he needs to play allot 9 min doesn't get it . play him 20 min a game, take Gaudette put him on the wing and put Motte at center . or maybe Bailey Motte and Jake. Virtanen needs to be involved. If you are not going to play him move on. He is not helping the team pinned to the bench.

I talk to myself all the time but I'm in therapy for that.

Happy for you. From what I see the team is trying to play like the Harlem Globe Trotters to fancy,  get back to basics Pettersson looks like he is not focused the game has slowed down for him in a bad way he sees the play but reacts to late . The giveaway at the blue line was as bad as I have seen.

Most recognize that Marky either stole games or kept the team in games they didn’t deserve to be in. Many ‘fire house’ drills last year. The offensive counter to all this was to a activate the d-core and speed up the transition game. Still seems to be the prime strategy. You can go down the roster and find examples in almost every player of their ‘chancing’ offensive opportunity over defensive awareness. Bottom line is that the Canucks currently do not have a great defensive game. Run & Gun rules but that usually only works during the regular season.

Canucks still need a couple of years to morph into a true contender. Look at that blue line last night and although it was a tough night I was thrilled to see the young d-men get some TOI. I am really liking OJ and Chatfield. Many of the Hab scoring and opportunity were generated out of the Hab o-zone or the neutral zone.

Last night was a lot of nerves by the third they started to settle down. Green should learn how to call time outs.

End of the day Marky let us down against Vegas. It's Demmer who showed up clutch and stood on his head, in the PLAYOFFS were games matter most.

Also its one thing to say fire Travis Green (which they shouldn't)

But to say fire the guy that took Petey 5th, Hughes 7th, Brock 23rd... Give your head a shake bud.

Jim benning is going down as the best gm in franchise history.

Ungrateful fans sicken me tbh... Get a life. Trying to boo a guy out of town after he's handed us gem after gem?

This is the most glorious time to be a Canucks fan. Jim is the reason why.

If you're so shook over 2-4 start to the season, there's prob something unresolved going on in your life that's making u overly sensitive and frustrated so u just say fire Benning

    Be happy bro

Not going to happen. PLD is going to take a cornerstone player in return. Laine for PLD wouldn't be unreasonable at all, maybe a few small pieces from winnipeg. JV and Gaudette? LOL give your head a shake. A trade for PLD will start with either EP, Boeser, Podkolzin plus plus. Columbus would laugh at a JV gaudette and a first

PLD wont go to the peg the Habs may have the inside track . Vancouver if he would come would need to give up a lot this is a Franchise changing trade. I know people would be made about this but what they want and what we could give up . Miller plus Virtanen and Juolevi for PLD . Put EP on the wing and Brisebois to replace Juolevi. Virtanen can be replaced by Bailey. When Podkolzin comes in he can play third line min until he is ready for the top 6

    EP        PLD     Boeser

    Pearson Horvat Hoglander

    Bailey Gaudette MacEwen / Podkolzin

    Roussel Beagle Sutter

This was hardly a “puck luck” game and nor was the Oiler game before this one

trying to say it was close is a joke

we have been slow, uninspired, lazy and disjointed. We are passing on the Pp with zero purpose, our opponents must laugh on their bench watching us wasting time fooling nobody with point to high slot passes (fake shot, pass back, fake shot pass back, fake shot pass back....lose puck)

people on here, and I, call it like it is

it’s a 56 game season that will be over in a flash if we keep disking out 4 pointer no-show games

    so yeah, it’s an issue

I agree it is an issue. we could be looking at a Top 5 draft pick if the boys dont turn this around. The book is out on Pettersson and Hughes dont give them any room . Movement and good passing, speed is needed and no fancy stuff back to basics .

Well being badly outplayed in 2/3 of your games is not concerning to you?

having zero special teams is not concerning to you? You ok with our powerplay? Penalty kill? Physical play? Discipline?

if we were playing hard, dominating, bring physical and just not getting breaks it would be a different story but we are stinking out the rink

Give the boys 8 games if the are still sucking make changes. But I would fire Brown first.

I think miller is a perfect fit and I would not move him.

I would be interested in Gaudette + Virtanen + Rathbone for Dubois, but I think Columbus wants a 1 for 1, CBJ wants a 1st line center, a rumour out there is Dubois for Monahan

we do not really need a centerman. Nor do I think we really need Dubois

    Centers:

    Petey

    Bo

    Gaudette

    Beagle

    Sutter

    That is pretty good depth.

Also Hogz, Podz, Lind, Macewan coming up and we are without JT Miller

virtanen does not have much value right now despite essentially having a 20 goal season last year

Miller for Dubois yes I would do that in a flash

BIG Jake Virtanen, 24 yrs old, 6'1, 210 lbs---- Jake is in the right mind with players like Miller and Myers working with him..

Jake will use his speed and size to his advantage and cause havoc and make scoring chances ..

Can't wait to see #18 using speed, big train heading to the net, great shot..

LOL wow go Jake go Once Miller gets back Jake is back to the third line .
